Greg Olsen has not been impressive this year.

Many in the fan base have been wanting another solid TE to pair with Greg since Shockey left. It's a need.

Agreed.

I know me/you have talked about it when Shockey was released and how it was a bad move.

Cam would really thrive in a 2TE set with both being able to catch.....of course we still need WRs but that is because we have not really addressed that position in over 10 years...it's crazy how we have only gotten RBs on offense.

I know Chud loved 2 TE sets being a former TE coach, but I haven't really seen any signs that Shula shares that affinity.

Cam's accuracy on the deep ball has hurt olsen more than anything.  Look at the play up the seam last night as an exmple.  Olsen had his man beat and a good throw is likely a TD.

Olsen is not somebody that we need to throw a 4 yard pass too on 3rd and 8.  That's a flaw in scheme, not so much the player.

Our offense was soooooooooo explosive back when we were running with Olsen and Shockey.  The 2-TE sets were eating up almost every defense.                      I miss that type of offense.    I miss teams having to worry about both TEs on the field.

imo, Olsen has great hands and great speed for his position. He is an asset to the offense but he's not as agile as Graham and some of the others nor does he have their leaping ability. He's tougher than I expected him to be though and smarter as well, but he's not quite as physically gifted as I thought he would be when he was coming through the draft. Balance is pretty good, nerves are pretty strong. He's not quite a stud when it comes to cutting or jumping. There's just not a lot of pop in his legs off the get go but he gets moving real fast in the open field. It effects how well or fast he can adjust to Cam's throws.

He has a couple of top tier abilities but not more than that like the elites. I think he's at the tier right below them.
