Greg Olsen has not been impressive this year.

Just because there are other TEs coming into the league that are better doesn't mean Olsen is worse.  You basically have Gronk, Jimmy Graham, Vernon Davis, and everyone else.  He's at the top of 'everyone else'.

I didn't include Tongy G in mine b/c he is done and Julius Thomas has Manning...those other guys are doing it w/o a HoF QB...

You can tell a lot of the posters on here only watch Panther football though.

 

Charles Clay would be a beast in this offense...he can run and actually break tackles...

6th in receptions

7th in yards

12th in yards/game

9th (T) in touchdowns

4th (T) in 20+ yard receptions

5th in first-down conversions

You act like that's bad company.  I'm not sure what some of you expect out of Olsen.  I've always thought he was a borderline top 10 TE.  Nothing more, nothing less.  A borderline top 10 TE for a 3rd round pick is pretty damn good value if you ask me.

He's got a better QB than a lot of the other guys too...

 

No one is saying Olsen is a scrub but there are much faster and better TEs that could be had...do you have numbers on his blocking ability?

He is mainly a pass catching TE who has great hands but can't run.

I think he is a great player to have on the team. Seems to really calm Cam down on the field.. get him in the zone to make a play. We need someone like Greg. Would I like to see another TE next to him like Gronk or Vernon Davis? Hell yes! But if we cant get that super human TE like other teams Greg is the next best thing. I love olsen he really keeps this teams head on straight on the field. He TRIES he fights for the ball like 89

No he's a finesse TE playing in a ball control offense. He's been the best target all year. Problem is he's the only pass catching TE we have. Hey but who needed shockey anyway
