Greg Olsen has not been impressive this year.

It may be a combination of his play, the plays called for him, and Cam but I there is something missing from that position. He's the best TE we have had since Walls and his play is similiar....it's just the NFL is different now than it was back in the 90's.

No. He has the best hands on this team, YAC just isn't his thing. A 2 TE set with an athletic TE would do wonders.

Olsen has been darn good.  I'm not sure what you're talking about.  Some of the plays we ran for him last night simply did not play to his strengths.  He's not a shake and bake guy.  He's not a guy you run a screen for or who you hit in the flat and expect him to break it.

i think teams are able to lock down on him more because of the decline of our other options. in spite of this he's still having the second biggest year of his career.

Your expecting to much. The guy is not a Vernon Davis, Jimmy Graham type player who can make up for a #2. We have Smith and that's it. He should be the #3 guy but he is having to be the #2 guy for Cam due to lack of the WR dept.

He's been what he is. A slightly above average player.

He's not been bad but he should never catch screen passes since I don't remember him ever breaking a tackle and that's kind of important on those types of plays. Also he makes for a poor outlet/dump off guy as well unless he catches the ball beyond the first down marker. Guy has the lower body strength of a 12 year old. He is deadly running those out routes to the sideline however.

The real question is was he worth a 3rd round draft choice? Looking at Hurney's history, the answer is yes.

He's a great receiving threat and in no way a blocking TE.  He would be much better if we had a little better option(s) at WR.
