I could take the time to try and explain the difference between 'adjustments' and changing an entire scheme, but I doubt it'd be productive.

But I never said change the entire scheme. I said running zone all game long with just rushing 4 isn't going to work against high powered passing attacks, especially on the road. It has its weaknesses and if the QB is elite and has time, he will make the throws. If we play that exact way Dec 22nd, chalk that up as another L. Contrary to the belief out there, Seattle runs zone at times too. Very versatile style of play especially from their corners cause you have to switch it up. KC is probably the only team that runs man and man only and after manning carved them the first time they ran it again, got carved up again

I'm with everyone else in thinking what could it hurt? But, as I have always said, Chico has a soft-spot and tends to develop favorites out of the guys already on the roster, often to his and our detriment. Look how long it took to get rid of Fua. The secondary is no exception... that being said, I don't think he is going to bring in a guy to play over the guys he has already put his trust in to get the job done at this point.

If we can get him cheap, yes!.

He wasn't great in the zone scheme, but was still better than Munnerlyn who is getting Fred Smoot'd every week. It'd be real nice to get him atleast 2 years so if we tap in this Deep corner class in the first 2 rounds, he could help mentor. Plus we get another solid top 2 rounds guy on the other side. Rivera may move up to man on DBs because 2 guys locking them down at the line with pressure from the front 7 is recipient for disaster for QBs

Haven't seen if our staff has used man coverage anywhere in the past. But I have a feeling they aren't doing it now due to the core we have now. Munnerlyn can't do anything back off with a head start, could you imagine him up on mike Wallace the other week? There would have been Multiple long TDs

The people that are saying to bring him in now are idiots.

Let's bring in a guy who sucks at our basic scheme....and who does not know our playbook....when we are 9-4....with 3 games to go.

Yea, that sounds like a good idea.

I would not let most of you run a lemonade stand in my driveway with those decision making skills.

Our defense is designed to get pressure on the QB fairly quickly...  we didn't do this, and Brees tore us apart.  It's a pretty simple concept.

I cannot think of a team in the NFL that could beat the Saints at home without getting constant pressure on Brees. I cannot think of a team that could beat NO at home scoring 13 points. We have to play better.....we are going with what we have at cb.

We had a chance to sign Aso before the 49ers game for cheap

Bringing him in now would be foolish.

I would not be opposed to at least talking with him (or someone like him) in the offseason - but it would have to be on the cheap given that he's not a zone CB and we looove ourselves some zone.  Even in the zone he'd be an upgrade over what we have but I think in the grand scheme of things he'd make a mediocre DB here.

Actually I want him for the playoffs... So I'm thinking if he can be had for cheap, you bring him in now, get him learning the system in practice etc and see what he does after a couple weeks in practice.

Why is this so hard for many of you to grasp.....Aso does NOT fit our scheme. He is terrible in zone.

I am all for upgrading the CB position. But, it needs to be with a guy that has the skills to be successful in the scheme we run.

You don't have a scheme that was implemented in training camp and did half the season...and then make that drastic of a change mid season. That is lunacy.

You tweak... You don't scrap and start over mid season.

There. Two can play this game.
