Welp, we got that over with.

There will be a 10-6 and possibly 11-5 team that won't make the playoffs this year. I hope we aren't it

I am pretty sure 11-5 would be enough. We have the tiebreaker over the Niners and they will face Cards. Not worried about 11-5. 10-6 just won't happen, we will come out refocused.

There is a lot of "Brees is great and accurate" to go around, and all true.  At the same time, we got a lesson in exposing another teams weaknesses.  The Saints put however many guys on the Oline that was needed to give Brees the time needed to expose our secondary.  Our Oline was exposed in most facets of their game.  Cam was exposed for only being able to throw the fastball to his receivers as all the touch passes sailed over everyones head.

Ron did not seem to have any gameplan, or could not execute one, to expose any Saints vunerabiities.

To be honest, I think we are tied as about the 3rd best team in the NFC at the moment.  Seattle and NO are both a bit better, not a huge amount, but better.

We are there with SF and Philly in my opinion as a close third.  Philly is one team that I think can beat Seattle in Seattle.  The OLine of SF is one that I think can beat NO in the dome with a hard nosed running game.  I see us staying close to a lot of teams, but just don't think we are there yet.  A strong draft at OT and CB and a free agent or two and then we might be a more complete team.  Hope I am surprised however.  Just being a realist.

I never got to the Sport Science episode. We couldn't generate pressure at all. When I seen that, I knew it was going to be a long night for our defense.

I believe he's talking about the one where he hits a target like 20 or 30 yards away with the exact same speed. . dead center 10 out of 10. Something like the speed and trajectory of the ball was identical every time.

He is clearly a top 3 QB. . Brady is no comparison to him and shouldnt be lumped in with him Peyton and DahhhhhbleCheck.

That the Saints won it is not particularly surprising to me, though the homer in me was secretly hoping we would somehow manage to sweep them. I think what bugs me most is that it seems to have been such a complete failure by every aspect of the team - defense, offense, STs, and coaching. To lose is one thing. To have such a total collapse was pretty alarming to me. Maybe they'll come away from it refocused for the last three games and get us to 12-4. I sure hope so. In any event, last night certainly spotlighted the areas where DG needs to work the most Gettlemagic.

The crazy thing is this can all go south real quick. The Jets are a lesser team but their defense is legit and can win them some games. Then the Saints damn sure isn't a gimme and then we go to Atlanta who would love to ruin our season.

Arizona is the only team that could miss the playoffs at 11-5, since they'd lose a tiebreak to SF at 11-5. SF would lose the 5th seed tiebreak to either you guys or NO at 11-5, but get the 6 over ARZ.

I'm definitely disappointed the Panthers lost, but in a way I'm relieved that the win streak is over. Takes all the pressure off, and now that we are more than likely not going to win the division we can just focus on making the playoffs and the ultimate goal of taking home the Lombardi Trophy.

I think a lot of fans expected a loss.  The Saints are practically unbeatable in the dome, especially in primetime games.  Carolina missed out on some early opportunities and you can't do that against New Orleans at home.  We'll be relegated to the #5 or #6 seed and well, I think a lot of us would have taken that at the beginning of the year.  Here's to a strong finish and no injuries.  This team can still make a run.

Goodness..thats amazing! I remember when San Diego was letting him go, I was hoping we got him back then. I think the knock on him then was a shoulder injury I believe but he is doing his thing.

Exactly.  He had a separated shoulder and no one thought he would be good again.  Who knows maybe we could have saved Jake's career some as a back up.  I would have loved that move but I think this forum would have imploded since we had Jake during a fairly good time during his career.
