I really like the idea of double dipping on O-line because I think WR's take a few years to develop, so we're going to have to target one in free agency if we want to compete.  I also think it wouldn't be bad to dump both Stewart and Williams.  Tolbert is good enough to carry the load and time to look for some young blood in our run game.

No need to double dip. Get a stud LT round 1, then go WR and TE 2 and 3. Resign Gross to play RT, and get Kugbila and Silatolu to play G. (Or resign Wharton if need be)

 

Then sign some veteran CBs.

They can't afford to double dip at any one position. WR, OL, CB are all major needs and need to be addressed in that order in all 3 rounds.

There's a handful of legimate #1 WR in this draft but they'll all be gone by our pick round 2. So I pray they finally get a WR in the first.

Then depending on who's left you take the better player whether he is OL or CB.

I'm not sure there are going to be any WR FA's worth signing for us. I'm not even positive that Hakeem Nicks could be what we are looking for, We need a dude with some real top 10 talent. Maybe even take a TE. I have faith that DG will improve this team but we need more weapons, period.

If I was going to double dip at a certain position it would be at CB or WR. The secondary was exposed and it was about time someone was going to do so. And, our receiving corp has to be one of the worst. This offense is all Cam. I'm sick and tired of crossing my fingers for a Brandon LaFell or Ted Ginn to be the one to make a play here or there. It's not consistent enough and quit the Lafell is Moose 2.0 comparison. It's bull$hit.

Why does anyone want Nicks? The only thing signing Nicks does, is it gives Stewart a sideline buddy during practices and games.

IMO signing Nicks would set this franchise back a couple years.

Agree.  We are fortunate to have him. 

 

No need to double dip OL.  When everyone is healthy, we have OGs to choose from.  The only way we should go OL in rd 1 or 2 is if a stud OT drops in our lap.  Bell may move inside and make a decent OG.  If necessary, I'd rather bring in another crafty vet for our OL and use our draft on skill positions.  1 big FA signing at WR or CB and the other in rd. 1 or 2.

Our Oline deserves props for playing above what any reasonable expectations might have been given the caliber of talent and patchwork, revolving door nature of the Oline. But keeping Cam clean is not the only requirement of the big boys on either side of Kalil. The stagnant run game we've seen this year is in large part due to the Oline not being able to open lanes for the RBs to run through. We need an upgrade there, just as we did on the Dline last year. Yes, we also need WRs and some upgrades in the secondary, but we can't forget to beef up that offensive front if we want to see our running and passing attacks begin to flourish like we all want.
