Double trouble is no more......shell of what used to be

Yeah, we could have the same production for less money but that isn't JStew or Deangelo's fault. That's Marty Hurney's fault. Cutting them won't really help. They have tons of guaranteed money.

cutting them will help some....at least Williams.  Plus, it allows us to go ahead and start the process of finding new RBs that fit the system.  That doesn't happen overnight.  I would imagine Stewart's restructure at the start of this season......wasn't as pointless as it appears on face value.  I'm sure there was something more to it.

Those contracts were a mistake, but the whole "dime a dozen" narrative about running backs is a big time overstatement.

No it isn't.  RB is one of the easiest spots to fill if you can creates holes for them to run through.....

like I said, name a team whose RBs/FBs etc. have produced fewer 100 yard games for there QB.  We overrate what they are and mean here.

It isn't easy to find a DeAngleo Williams in his prime....no.  Those aren't a dime a dozen.    It is easy to find what he is now, those are.

Exactly.  Guys to replace what J. Stew and DeAngelo currently are truly are a dime a dozen in the NFL.  These guys aren't "Double Trouble" anymore.  They used to be "Double Trouble" for our opponents, now they're "Double Trouble" for our salary cap.  We knew these cap crunches were coming when we paid them, but if they were still the guys they were when we paid them it'd be worth it.  It's just they're not.  Not even close.
