Has anyone noticed that it's usually the troubled studs that we can draft but don't because we're about class, and it's the model citizens who are out of our reach in each draft? We gotta take a risk if we want a Gordon or Bryant.

 

Amen. I would say that this team is 2 years away from being a serious contender. Lack of talent at the WR, OL, and CB positions is holding this team back from truly being elite.

I had hopes there were hidden gems in that secondary but its just not so. Same goes for that Oline. I just hope we make it to the playoffs to get players like Gross to play just one more year.

Gman needs to trade up and pick up Sammy Watson.  Good size and some of the best hands on a receiver that I have seen come out in the past decade.

 

It would be great to have Sammy Watkins but I doubt Gman would trade up. Just not his philosophy.

it wouldn't have bother me if we lost this game, but to lose in this fashion is just embarrassing and feels like i just got my heart ripped out of.

We just have too many holes. Oline,WRs,and CBs you can have a bad Dline and beat the saints if you have those other 3 covered but not the other way around. All Ryan had to do on defense was play prevent and let the offense chew our CBs up.

The run was due to end sooner or later.   If you don't put pressure on the QB ESPECIALLY DREW BREES you are going to lose.  Brees is one of the most accurate passers in the game and he had far too much time to throw.

 

I sensed we were flat starting our first two drives.  Two field goals and that was it.  One of those games.  We'll regroup and get ready for the Jets which is not a gimme game either.

It just goes to show that we arent there yet.

 

weve had a good run, but its clear we lack the the skill positions.

 

Its cool though, im patient and were getting there. dont build rome in a day. the saints have has years to build around brees.

agreed with this.  if we make the playoffs it's been a hell of a season and we've overachieved.  but i just don't think we're on par yet with teams like the seahawks and saints.  too many clear weaknesses

Playing in the wild card would keep our team focused and not get too full of themselves... there's a reason Packers, Giants, and Ravens have won the Super Bowl as Wild Card teams.

 

Plus how awesome would it be to knock the Dallas Cowboys out of the playoffs?!

Everyone was shitting on me for predicting a loss and saying that we're not a complete enough team to really consider ourselves as Super Bowl contenders.

 

Now most of those people are making the same statements.
