Legion of WHOM~

Listening to 'that other' sports radio 99.9 here in Raleigh and the guy asked the question "what is the single position that needs to step up for Saints game"

For me it's the DB...or as Gruden said "The Legion of Whom"....guys no one heard of.

Our DB's were suspect at the beginning of the year, then we lost Gamble.  Amazingly (?) we have done better than OK with some INT.   We have also gotten burned on the deep ball...(Wallace, Vjax).

Thoughts:

We beat Brady by getting pressure with our front 4.

Patriots doesn't have the WR that NO does.  We locked up Gronk we need to lock up Graham.

Seaturds have elite DB, they shut down Brees.

We have elite LB...going to have to beat NO thru our defense but counting on pressure and sacks instead of coverage.

What position or position group do you feel is the #1 most important piece of the puzzle Sunday night?

Safeties just have to be disciplined by staying over the top. I imagine were going to be running alot of 2 deep, with kuech on jimmothy, kinda like a tampa 2. We CANNOT let those receivers behind us because they will burn us, we have to be physical with them off of the line and re route them.

every cornerback not named drayton florence. melvin white/josh thomas need to have career performances.

also zach strief has the third-best pass blocker rating among tackles in the NFL. whether or not charles johnson can consistently beat him could be the difference between an incomplete pass or a checkdown and a deep ball taking advantage of poor corner play.

Position Group I feel is most important for a win?

I think it's Cam and the offense. I could be wrong, but I don't think that New Orleans is going to be held to 7 points for two weeks in a row. I feel like Sunday night has all implications of a knock down drag out street fight, and whoever has the ball last wins. This is a Division game, so expect a dogfight!

I obviously wouldn't be mad at all if we blew them out 48-0, but I don't think it's gonna happen. We don't need to compare our performance Sunday night to what Seattle did on Monday Night. Every game is different. We just need to come out with a W and most importantly just as healthy.

We'll all take the W however it comes, I hope that we're dominant and win convincingly. It would be EPIC to go down there and push them around in their house! At the end if the day, all I want is the W and health going fwd.

Back to the reason I chose Cam and the offense. I feel like we're gonna need to put up 31 to win this one. It's not a knock on our Defense at all. I think it speaks more to the fact that Brees and Co rarely lose back to back games with their real HC. They'll be prepared and focused. We know that our guys are hungry and they're not scared.

I fear what every Panther fan fears... That "Legion of Whom" breaking instead of bending and being exposed. I fear Riverboat Ron's call to Not work out when we really need it, there are many more fears... But that is the old way of thinking. In fact, everytime that doubt creeps into my mind I talk to myself... I say "self ...give me 2 claps and a Rick Flair Wooooo!" This team is full of winners... That's why I don't really worry, but until they win this game... I'm still holding my breathe.

Don't get me wrong. I'm a believer already... But it'd be hard to imagine us winning this game and not the Division. This is by far the most important game this franchise has seen since 2008. I'm ready to watch it, drink beer, yell at my TV, talk some poo on the huddle after, and go to sleep with a Huge grin on my face knowing we run this Division and times have indeed changed!! WhT better way than to go down there, and smack them in the mouth

we're not gonna hold them to single digits...their O matches up pretty well with our D.  We have

to keep Graham under control.....then we can outscore them.

Sometimes this year I've felt we were too young to be scared, and it's worked out great for us mentally.

I hope we don't lose confidence if we suffer some early setbacks, or even lose the game.  An 8 game winning

streak is magical, and if we win this game, I really think this team could go all the way.

It will be loud and intense, but our guys trust each other.  Keep the faith, keep pounding, and come out with

a win and no injuries.  We can do it.  And if we do it, it will crush the psyche of the taints.  We'll be done with them.

If we lose, no biggie, we're still their biggest worry.

Its the underneath things that make New Orleans click.  Sproles out of backfield.  Pierre Thomas and Sproles on screens.  Graham on quick outs and post that turn into 13 to 15 yard completions.   Seattle took those away and got physical on WR.   If the Saints can't run on us then they are hosed.

That being said.. I think both Ingram and Pierre Thomas are good runners.  They feed off the crowd very well in the dome and that will present a challenge.

Saints won't score more than 24.  Between 24-13 will depend on how well our offense is playing.  If we are putting the 7-9 minute drives we are capable of and score touchdowns at the end then we win in usual fashion.   If not then its going to be a shootout that I'm not sure if we are cable of winning.
