That last goal Edmonton scored was the epitome of lazy by Ward.

Watching last night's game having played hockey before. I'll put the blame where it actually belongs.

 

 

1st goal - defense failing to properly clear the puck which creates an uneven situation. 

 

2nd goal - Ward's fault

 

3rd goal - Ward's fault

 

4th goal - really nothing Ward could have done with it, behind the net and a massive failure by the defense.... Just really horrible play all around. 

 

5th goal - juicy rebound that the defense should have cleared, it was right there to be cleared. 

 

 

 

 

SO 2 Goals that were directly his fault for poor play.... I really question some of you when it comes to hockey...

Just calling it how it was last night, the same way the coaches and players are going to look at it.   That particular OT goal should have never happened. The defense was right there and was supposed to clear and missed on the clear attempt. 

 

Blaming Ward for last night isn't correct, not saying that Ward's been playing well either. He's had some bad games but Last night wasn't his fault. 3 of the goals are on the defense for failing to play the puck and situation properly. 

 

Defense has been better but it's still not good. Still suck at clearing the puck and giving up too many turnovers on failed clears. 

 

All you have to do is look at the top 5 goalies in Sv% to see that for the most part they aren't seeing nearly the same amount of shots and scoring chances compared to Carolina's goalies. "The exception is Price, guy is playing lights out and facing a ton of shots."

 

It's a moot point though because the Cane's aren't going to do anything with him. Peters and Ward are the goalies going forward this season. They aren't going to risk Peters on waivers and aren't able to trade Ward leaving Khudobin as the odd man out here, unless of course if Ward gets hurt again......
