I've watched every game this year and one thing that irritates me about Kemba and sessions is they don't operate the offense we'll enough.

They don't pass to open players and that brings my point. Why aren't they feeding Bismack when he's wide friggin open. I understand he's had trouble catching the ball and isn't an offensive juggernaut but c'mon. The man sets at least 1-2 screens per offensive set when he's in the game. He's setting great screens and he gets wide open and you don't reward him? Why?

His catching has improved. His footwork is suspect but usually he's already at the basket when he comes off the screen. The few jump shots I've seen him take have been great looks and even made a few of them.

You can even catch him jumping up and down and screaming for ball at least once a game when he's wide open.

Do the point guards really not have faith in him?

And if they don't, how do they expect him to improve with 1-2 touches a game. And those touches he does get our Bc of his effort on boxing out and getting his own rebound.

I'll be the first to tell you that I have disliked this pick very strongly and thought he was just garbage. But when I see that he wants it and nobody feeds him, it's kinda aggravating. Why not run 5-6 plays designed for him a game. Or hell at least pass it to him on the pick and roll. But instead of running pick and rolls we are just subtracting the roll and eliminating him altogether. I don't get it.

Sorry for the length

I've done said it many times. KEMBA has not look like the long term answer at this point of his career. He's a two guard with no passing skills and control of the game. And that's the two most important phases of a PG game. Fans will be fans and they will be homers all they can. Kemba is a great kid and one of my all time favorite college player, but we need upgrade.

Give me Marcus Smart!

Give me Marcus Smart!

1) Kemba is much better than he appears at passing. You can see in games like tonight that when guys are willing to shoot or finish on a drive, he can get plenty of assists. At the moment, Josh McRoberts and MKG (slightly) are the only two guys who will catch and shoot. Jefferson did it some the other night and Hendo and Taylor did it a little tonight (10 assists for Kemba). Our team is full of ball-stoppers. Jefferson, Hendo, McRoberts, and Sessions want the ball in their hands, wait for the clearout, then go 1-on-1. There aren't many assists to be had in those situations. If/when we add more guys that can catch and shoot, then Kemba will get more assists.

2) Marcus Smart is the number 2 guy on my "big board" behind Joel Embiid. However, if you don't like Kemba's passing, you won't like Marcus Smart's passing. Smart is a VERY similar passer to Kemba. He makes flashy passes off of his drives. He gets assists at OKST because he has Le'Bryan Nash, Markel Brown, and Michael Cobbins to finish at the rim (all athletic, energy guys who excel in college) and Phil Forte to spot-up from 3. He won't have the same caliber of finishers or spot-up shooters here. If he comes to Charlotte, he will be a bigger, better version of Ramon Sessions (iso player, streaky shooter, gets to the line) with defense.

I agree that Kemba's passing ability may be the cause of poor shooters on this team, but at this point I dont see him being anything much than a two guard, 6th man off the bench. He is a capable starting PG, but I would only put him along guys like Conley and Hill when he gets it all in. There will be nights where he's going to put up double digit assists like last night, but Kemba doesnt do it on a consistent basis or enough. He's a role player, not someone who we can build this team around with. That's the difference between Kemba and Smart.

Marcus Smart is a similar PG to Kemba only in that both are better shooters than are at passing the ball. But, Smart is a legitimate franchise PG who you can build a team around with. Smart has all the tools to become a top PG in the future. Another difference is that Smart is a better game manager than Kemba. He has this ability to control the game. Imo, Smart is a young Dwade.

    • https://collegefootballnetwork.com/college-football-playoff-predictor Fun little predictor. You can pick every game for the rest of the season. Right now my 12 are: 1. Ohio St. (bye) 2. Miami (bye) 3. Georgia (bye) 4. Arizona St. (bye) 5. Oregon VS 12. BYU 6. Boise St. VS 11. SMU 7. Notre Dame VS 10. Texas 8. Penn St. VS 9. Indiana   That gives me: Oregon/OSU for the third time this year (Oregon) Miami lucking out once again VS Indiana SMU playing cinderella VS ASU Texas/Georgia one more time (Texas)   That gives me: SMU/Miami again (Miami) Oregon/Texas (Oregon)   Oregon then trashes Miami in the finals.
