Can the Panthers run on New Orleans?

Current New Orleans Rushing Defense Rank: 16

The best defense we can have on Sunday will be via our own offensive run game. If we can run the ball, keep the clock moving, and more importantly keep Brees on the bench we will win this game.

However, the run game has struggled a bit as of late, with the exception of Mike Tolbert.

Deangelo and Stewart have been non factors.

So what do we do? Use Tolbert as the feature back? Designed run plays from Cam?

Do we keep feeding Deangelo the ball even if he gets no gain or worse?

I think Cam needs a bigger planned role than normally....

Also, I actually think Williams can run on them.  I don't like the way he matches up a lot but I like him against an aggressive D on turf....and they aren't built like AZ.

I feel we've been kind of bad at this all year minus a few games, despite what the stats say because of Cam's numbers inflating it.

I'd almost like to use Tolbert more than either, he's been more dependable and creates more yards from pure power.  I'm not sure about Stew or DWill, but I'd like to see a lot more screens. We haven't got Stewart in open field this year so that may be a good way for him to get some confidence although he's looked slow since coming back which I guess isn't that surprising.

I believe our running game may have a break out game this week. All season long we have faced tough run defenses and stout defensive lines... Seattle, Arizona, NY Giants (supposedly), Minnesota, San Francisco, and Miami. The others teams not listed have not been too bad against the run either I believe.

DWill had success last year against a Saints defense that IMO had more talent than the current Saints defense. Perhaps their recent success is due to the change up in bringing in Rob Ryan. Tolbert will continue to pound as he usually does for the yards needed for the 1st down. Cam will also torch them if they do not chose to leave a LB to spy him.

I love me some Tolbert but I don't want to see him as the featured back. Williams is still the best there with the ability to take it to the house any given play.

I think Stewart showed some good toughness against Tampa's physical rush defense. He was delivering some blows like we know he can do.

Looking forward to the three headed rushing attack getting back on track.

I want more play action passes. We have a dizzying amount of rushing options, possibly the most one team has had in NFL history, yet almost every fake handoff is a Cam run. We should be confusing defenses more.

I'd like to see Tolbert as a featured back with Jstew as relief. And for God's sake keep DeAngelo to outside runs and screens.
