What Saints Fans are Saying

Also it seems the Panthers offense continue to get worse, two weeks ago was 22nd, now down to 25th total offense with 28th passing offense. The Jaguars passing offense is ranked two places higher than Panthers.

Carolina is 7th in pts per drive.

Jaguars would be 32nd in pts per drive

Problem with what you are doing.....is your are ignoring the football and just cherry picking some numbers.   You see, the Jags suck balls unlike us, therefore they throw the ball a lot trying to keep up with other teams.  Carolina doesn't trail much and we allow ourselves to play our brand of football.....which is technically one of the more efficient offenses in the NFL (pts per drive, TOP, 3rd down, redzone, etc)....LOL.

Here are the stats against Pressure and against Blitz where you claimed Cam is one of the best, although numbers say otherwise

So Cam has 8TDs and 6 INT 21 sacks with an 87 passer rating against blitz

Brees has 10TDs and 1 INT 14 sacks with a 112.9 passer rating against blitz

And the conclusion was Cam one of best against the blitz in NFL and the way to beat Brees is by blitzing him early and often!? Hmmmm

way to beat Brees is to not play him in the Superdome.....ALL his numbers drastically change.

A shame football is played outdoors sometimes

Hey Dat, what the hell is a bat game? what 's the story behind the saints carrying a bat out  of the tunnel? I'm curious thats all. I saw a thread over on saints report.

it's part of the bounty program...players get extra pay if they use a bat on a sideline reporter or cameraman

what do you expect?  he is a saints fan, who have turned into one of the biggest stat mongerers in the league.  before blocking him, or now when people quote him, it is still obvious he goes by box scores for pretty much any argument because that is the easiest thing to do.  the more difficult thing to do is to watch the game, understand what winning means and realize there are other ways to play the game besides throwing it 40-60 every game.

- Only 4 of QB Geno Smith’s 115 yards came through the air, with 111 yards after the catch. Only three of his eight completions traveled beyond the line of scrimmage.

How often do you post out of your ass?

So by that logic Drew Brees passes for just 80 yards a game, because the rest are dump offs to Sproles that only travel 4 yards through the air?

YOU make the statement NEWTON IS ONE OF THE BEST IN NFL AGAINST BLITZ

I highlight that statement and put up his and Brees numbers against blitz, ADDRESSING EXACTLY WHAT YOU POSTED

YOU respond by saying I'm cherry picking stats and multiple poster agree.

Maybe you should go back a page before you look as dumb as Madhatter did!

You use selective stats and excuses as to why other teams beat the Saints. Geno had over 100 passing yards, you say he threw for four because his passes weren't far downfield.

Then in the same breath you'll tout Brees as the best ever because of his yardage totals when a large chunk of his yards are dump offs to Sproles, which is the same as what Geno did when he beat you.

So if you are going to use a stat, don't use it selectively. Use it across the board to apply to everyone and every team. You'll gain more credibility that way.

Otherwise you just like a useless piece of poo that should kill himself and do humanity a favor.

Wow, I warned you, but you just couldn't flip back a page. First off, in YARD IN AIR, as in how many yards the ball went in air BEFORE YAC, Brees has more yards than any other QB.

That's right, for this season Brees has the MOST YARDS IN AIR THROWN! Manning is #2 but has more total yardage than Brees because Manning is benefitting from an additional 400+ YAC added to his total yard. So having most yards in air means you statement is incredibly dumb. EDIT, It just updated this weeks game and Brees moved into #2

http://wp.advancednflstats.com/airYardsStats.php

Secondly, the original was me pointing out that Geno was much more successful against Panthers D than Saints. The 4 yards in air stat is a direct copy in paste from PFF article that was basically pointing out how much of a nonfactor he was in our game, as in any other QB or backup QB could have come in and made those same exact 4 yard dump offs. So if you have a issue with the "selective stat". Your issue is with PFF, ESPN, and NFLcom since they all used the same stat in their game wrap ups to show how much of a non factor Geno was, my original point,

    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
