You are neglecting to acknowledge that Brees has been playing for quite some time and Cam was raw plutonium coming out. Worry not about that. Just be happy we have a great core of young players to build this team around.

yeah I mean I think you are partly correct. At the same time tell me if I'm wrong in cam's first two years the defense was so bad most of the time cam had to lead the team back, come from behind. He couldn't make those game winning drives now most are you saying well the d had the lead in the fourth quarter in plenty of games the last two years. The offense got conservative I hate that and no excuse for it. I'm saying cam had the chance to make some winning drives none the less. Anyways that's the past I'm not blaming either side of the ball. NOW because of the way the defense is playing and the running game being so dominant I really believe that cam got in a come from behind situation in a playoff game in the road I still have my doubts mainly because of our lack of explosive big plays and our biggest running threat is the QB. Playoff football is different and the o- line would probably be blitzed like crazy because of obvious passing downs and worry that cam would bring out of the favre in him which sometimes happens. Our offense sometimes stalls in the first half etc. St. Louis, SF, Seattle, Tb this past weekend. I think the defense is kind of covering up for some offensive inconsistencies. That's just my take.

This is the most ignorant post yet. The NFL CAPS YOUR roster. I guess you are still upset about the purge of 2010. JR was cleaning house due to a possible labor dispute. News flash we are past that now, and almost over cap with Hurney's Magic. This organization is trending up due to our young core roster and a general manager that put us in a position to be successful for years to come. Yes it has been 5 long years since we had that success, but it is here now. We have a chnace to win our division and possible #2 seed, yet we are not committed to winning? What am I missing? I can only imagine what next year will bring once we have Oline help.

There's hope for you yet. During our win streak, almost every week the opposing D comes out and says the game plan is to take away the run and make Cam beat you with his arm. He's done that. They'll continue to dare him to do that. He's also still beating them with his legs. If you watch, Cam goes through his progressions and will hang around in the collapsing pocket longer than he should, waiting for a receiver to uncover. He pretty much only runs when he has to, and when he does, it keeps drives alive. He's not a running QB, he's a pocket passer who can fly.

I think that truly is the biggest question around cam, he has proved he can play in the NFL as a big time player I think he is the type of player that can adjust to different systems and pick up different language. I don't have many questions for him just a couple.

superbowls are won in the pocket not by running qbs. Colin kaepernick couldn't run all over Baltimore defense like he did GB in divisional round. You have to be able to manipulate defenses from the pocket.

They're also won by great defenses. And we have one of the best in the past 10+ years. Go be a taints fan you pessimistic fug.

Are you kidding me on the drafting. Gettlemen has done the best fuging job ever in one year. He took a team well over the cap had numerous pick ups that are mostly starters and all contributing we have three tremendous draft picks in star short and Klein. Get lost dude. Forgot to mention he got them to all do it on the cheap. And if this team keeps believing in eachother they won't run for more money yet. They'll play for the championships. Id bet anything kuechly won't ever leave. His idols are people who cemented the same teams for their careers. And he's a good kid. This rileyfreeman character (who brain processing is nothing like his name sake) is really agitating me.

Cam has beat numerous teams with his arm, he runs only when it is the last option. Just having eyeballs and two brain cells rubbing together can tell you that. It is his ability to have the pocket collapse around him and still find a way to make a play, it his ability to get 20-30-40-50 yd plays at a whim with his feet while still killing you with his arm.

also cam is not raw anymore, in this day in age gm's draft these qbs so high because they are expected to come in and play right now. Qbs are not drafted raw unless they are taking in late 5-7 round. Cam had some questions coming out of auburn but nobody was saying he was a complete raw project. I understand the potential but I hate that word because you shouldn't talk about what could become. You have to take the player for what they are right now and hope they have the mental determination to improve. Everybody in the NFL has potential but not everybody achieves it.

You do realize he was running trains on defenses just off his raw ability, now you seeing refinement. 

 

Just look at what he provides physically, drew brees didn't get where he was over night, it took years of refinement and preparation, same goes for Cam. He sees what it takes to win at the the next level in the NFL. He is just scratching the surface.
