What Saints Fans are Saying

well, without Thomas, Sherman and Chancellor, Seattle's backfield would be about average.

To be honest it is just Thomas and Sherman. Thomas is arguably our best player on the team and Sherman can take a wide out out of the game by himself leaving the rest of our defense to go crazy.

Chancellor is a good safety but he is the enforcer out their, in coverage he is ok but he scares recievers catching balls across the middle.

Our back up corners are great though too and could probably start for other teams. Maxwell the 4th guy on the depth chart started last night for the suspended Browner and Thurmond and did a great job. Corner is our deepest position by far.

Of the 11 starters on defense, only two are same as last year and like 18 of the 27 defensive players that have played are new. The scheme is completely different, the overwhelming majority of players are new, and almost all the starters are new, Yet the defense in top part of league this year and leading league in sacks is the exact same one that ranked dead last in 2012.Sure, seems legit! lol

It's not about the players, it's about the team they play for. The moment an NFL defender puts on a Saints jersey they become part of the worst defense in NFL history. The stains of pure suck will never wash out from that franchise.

yeah our safeties aren't the greatest in coverage, but they can keep up better than the ones they replaced.  here lately we've been tightening down in the 4th quarter.  the most promising thing about our team is we get better defensively as the game goes on.  our front four rotation is so deep that we can just wear olines out.  when we send 5 or more its usually pretty ugly.

Your team collects corners like stamps, stop hoarding, lol

Yet the Seachickens ran up over 300 yards in the first half. Great defense you have there buddy ro.

Geaux Saints, whenever you get home that is.

Panthers allowed 370 on 61 plays with 6.1 yards per play, while Saints gave up 429 on 69 plays for 6.2 yards per play, so 6.1 vs 6.2 yards per play, not such a huge difference considering this one of our worst games in history.

It was one of the worst games since 2006 and they are obviously not as bad as their performance last night, next week will tell a lot more. We expect a win and a great showing against panthers, even with short week. On the other hand, if we look as bad next week, then we aren't going anywhere in playoffs so who cares how what happens after that. At the end of the day, Saints have 3 losses just like a Panthers.

Not really. As important as the record is the question of when did they peak. Teams want to be peaking going into the playoffs. Clearly looking at the schedule, the Saints peaked early. Their best football was months ago.

The Panthers? They started slow and are now peaking.

The latter is much more desirable.

How about points? Yards are fairly meaningless. Panthers play the best bend don't break D in the league.

Glad I'm not the only one. Actually several posters I haven't seen around until we started winning.

Either way, if we beat the Saints, it will be because Mike Shula watched the game last night. Plenty of things are there to exploit, where do we start?

well Shula has done a great job but I really think, like almost every game, the defense sets the tone.  Get off the field and let our offense hog the ball and eat clock like we have done so efficiently all year and I dont think the Saints are a team that can change that.  Our last team to out-duel us has two of the better 3-4 LBrs in the league with Dansby and Washington, who were able to create a ridiculous amounts of pressure up the middle.  Since then we have made adjustments and I sincerely think we can dictate the Saints defense like we did with the Buccs who I think are better on d.  If there is one team our running game should excel against, it is the Saints.  Deangelo and Stewart have owned them in their careers.  I dont think we will see any drastic changes to our gameplans because we have the ability to dictate what other teams do.  Even in breakdowns in blocking, opposing teams think they make a play and Cam does one of his WOW plays, escapes and picks up a first.  I expect to see a lot of Cam hate on Sunday night and it just makes him stronger.

if it weren't for our front seven, tannehill and wallace could have destroyed us. wish cam had a WR or two to throw to like that.

Wallace ran a 4.33 in combine, Meachum and Stills are in 4.38, that's a difference of about 8 inches, but Wallace had 2-3 yards separation, just saying.
