What Saints Fans are Saying

Read more carefully,

WORST DEFENSE EVER THAT HAS ZERO SIMILARITIES TO TGIS YEARS DEFENSE.

DEFENSE

DEFENSE, NOT TEAM

SAY IT WITH ME...D...E...F...E...N...S...E!!!

team = offense + defense! I was referring to just one side, Saints offense is basically almost all the same guys, same scheme, same coaches, same OC, same play calling , etc. Saints

IE, Saints offense is 90% same, Saints defense is 85% different in every way.

I must have missed where we had the best defense in the national football league the past two years

Sounds to me like Saints fans are trying to talk themselves into believing the Saints are a great team right now.

Their recent 4-3 record says otherwise.

They are a good team at home, but far from unbeatable.

I expect a close game Sunday night.

Well since were speaking previous match ups, Panthers last year were averaging 22 points given up on defense, Saints offense scored 27 in first game and 38 the second game, a game they led for 3/4 of the game, but they lost those games on defense which is greatly improved and playing great except for last nights bad showing. Last time Payton coached the a Saints, panthers got embarrassed in 45-17 beatdown and that was with Saints not trying to score after 3rd and just handing of and running.

Yeah, he beatdown a team playing 3rd stringers on D bc of mass injuries back in 2011.....

Hang your hat on that if you like.

This D.....isn't that. Speaking of such means absolutely nothing

Let's put our homer glasses down for a second and acknowledge that Brees is the best QB we've faced all season long. Our secondary has benefitted from our front seven all year long. They've also gotten lucky breaks on a few deep bombs too. If QBs like Tannehill and Glennon can shred us deep, what makes you think Brees won't? Point blank, I don't trust our DBs. We bend but do not break and this is a bad match up for that type of offense. I have faith in our LB core and DL but they'll have to keep Brees on his back for 95% of the game and that may be too much to ask.

Brady isn't elite?

Literacy, check into it!

Comprehend what he was saying....

You referenced a 2011 Panther D that was devastated by injuries......and act like that had some meaning today as you get ready to face what is arguably the best D in the NFL.

since that first game, we have made three changes to the starting lineup, moving Mitchell to FS, adding veteran Q Mikel playing him and Lester at SS, then picked Florence back up to start opposite Munnerlyn.  Melvin White usually comes in on nickel personnel.  They have been better than predicted, but still our weakest link on the team, but still good enough to have a top ranked defense.  A lot has changed since week one and I imagine it has for you guys as well.  Nice game last night, it was very entertaining.

A lot has changed we have been battling injuries and suspensions all year long. Luckily our team is getting pretty healthy at the right time and now we are really waiting for Percy Harvin and Walter Thurmond to come back from injury.

Your secondary sounds a lot like our D Line. Probably our weakest link but do enough to keep us an elite defense. We don't really have a monster on the line like you we just rotate in a bunch of pass rushers to keep fresh legs in their.

A lot has changed for both teams for sure it will be very interesting if we meet up in the playoffs again.

It was one of the worst games since 2006 and they are obviously not as bad as their performance last night, next week will tell a lot more. We expect a win and a great showing against panthers, even with short week. On the other hand, if we look as bad next week, then we aren't going anywhere in playoffs so who cares how what happens after that. At the end of the day, Saints have 3 losses just like a Panthers.

without mikel, mitchell and florence we are easily one of the worst secondaries in the league.  lester has that knack too.  too bad gamble retired instead of taking a pay cut and playing a couple more seasons :

well, without Thomas, Sherman and Chancellor, Seattle's backfield would be about average.

Of the 11 starters on defense, only two are same as last year and like 18 of the 27 defensive players that have played are new. The scheme is completely different, the overwhelming majority of players are new, and almost all the starters are new, Yet the defense in top part of league this year and leading league in sacks is the exact same one that ranked dead last in 2012.Sure, seems legit! lol

Yet the Seachickens ran up over 300 yards in the first half. Great defense you have there buddy ro.

Geaux Saints, whenever you get home that is.
