What Saints Fans are Saying

Hey guys Seahawks fan here. Saw some kind words come over to our board so I thought I would drop by and wish you luck this week against the Saints. When the Seahawks aren't playing I am cheering for the Panthers because of the tough style of football you guys play similar to ours. Couldn't stand Cam Newton at Auburn and he has evolved this year into one of my favorite NFL QBs. Last years Soph Slump was great for him and I think for the best.

That defense is nasty. Your front 7 is insane and I remember telling people who were disapointed in our performance against you that we would look back and see this as one of our biggest wins if not the biggest win of the season.

I see both the Panthers and Seahawks as the future of the NFC. Can't wait to see some battles that will come of it. Good luck to you guys this week and for the rest of the season and I hope to see you at the CLINK for the NFC Championship (assuming we take care of business). I know most people at our board right now are cocky coming off an emotional win... but although they are acting tough the Panthers scare everyone.

Um Smith has had several key 3rd down plays that have kept us chewing up the clock, I would say that's important.

This is true, but those fans are insinuating that Smith is carrying the offense on his back (like in 2005 and 2008). The facts are that Smith's numbers aren't that different from Olsen's (or LaFell's) and Cam is the focal point.

This is what I think can happen in following weeks, we split with Panthers and win division on tiebreakers which would come down to tiebreaker 4, conference record where Saints would have 2 NFC loses ( Panthers and Seattle) while Panthers would have 3 ( Cards, Seattle, and Saints).

Then as 2 seed, we play 3,4 or 5. I think Panthers can win wildcard game and I think Detroit can beat 49er or Cards. That mean Panthers go to Seattle and Lions come to Superdome. If Panthers knock of Hawk in super physical game, they would come to dome for NFC champ game after a tough cross country game to Seattle and I like our chances.

Now if the Saints play like they did last night against Panthers Sunday, then who cares where we seed because the team isn't good enough to go all the way. Luckily the defense has been really good this year with 1-3 year guys, so they are all very young and will keep improving and have some IR'ed talent that will be coming back next year that should all make the defense even better next year.

If the Panthers split the Taints we would be that 5 seed, with a good chance of playing you a third time. GL

A couple quick questions for you guys since I don't to get to watch every single one of your games but how is your secondary? I remember going into our week 1 matchup they said that was your weak spot, has that changed since the start? Is the front 7 pulling most of the load or is it an underrated part of your defense?

we have replaced 3-4 players in the secondary with scrubs that all make better decisions. (that's not fair, our starting safeties are not scrubs but lester is)  they might be limited in athleticism, but we have much better safeties now.

all they have to do is sit back and lick their chops while the front seven forces qbs to get antsy and try to force something to happen

they are mean and they will knock your teeth out if they get a chance.  they also have a knack for being in the right place at the right time, especially lester
