The 5th Grade Litmus

Every home game I grab a handful of game day magazines for my twins to pass out to their class.

At the beginning of the season, they could not give them all away. Now, they have to find a fair way to pass them out, everyone wants one. They tell me the other kids wait for them in the hallway to get a copy.

These kids are being converted in the 5th grade. Many are raised Pittsburgh or Dallas fans by selfish parents.

To be a fly on the wall when a 5th grader comes home to his fat Steeler fan parents and says "Your Steelers can suck it. Go Panthers!"

At any sight of a Panther logo, emblem, game on TV, etc.. my 2 year old screams at the top of his lungs "roarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, Panthers!". "Football, hut hut hut" "Rooarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"!

 

I grew up here, family PSL's since before we even had the stadium to walk into. My son will bleed Panther just like his father. 

 

Just for an additional laugh...My wife was at the store on Saturday with him. A guy passed in a panthers hat and my son started screaming the above to him. The guy stopped and couldn't believe it was a 2 year old that pumped up.

 

Zod thanks for doing your part. Now everyone else get at it! KEEP POUNDING! This is it, we are HERE. NOW IS OUR TIME.

Just like tobacco, politics and religion, it's always easier to hook'em while their young except that in this case it's AWESOME. Maybe we can overcome the redskins/cowboys/steelers epidemic that infects football fans around here!!!
