Absolutely disgusted.

I bought my Tampa Bay tickets so long ago.

I promised a great time. One who had never been to a game, the other a life long tampa bay fan (respect).

It started off as a great day. My friends and I met up to ride down to Charlotte, after having had a Hardees breakfast.

We reach Uptown Cabernet on Morehead, and pay 20 bucks to park.

"My friends, we are in for a great time."

Time comes. We move towards the stadium.

The congregation of Carolina fans, underneath a bridge, singing, Gregorian chant-like, of our victory.

I had forgotten, at the entrance, that I had a pocket knife in my coat pocket given to me by my father. I threw it away.

We go in. Fun is had.

For my friend, he enjoyed the 6 points that Tampa had gotten. For me, it was watching, live, Cam Newton, run for 57 yards.

Half Time happens.

My friends and I move towards the innards of the stadium.

I had promised my Tampa friend a beer earlier, and had intent on full fulling it.

I go through a line that I had learned was cash only. No big deal.

I need a smoke. I ask the kind lady behind the concession stand, where the designated smoking area was ( Yeah I didn't read the ticket.)

I light up a half-time-didn't-smoke-since-downing-shitty-beer smoke.

After a few seconds of lighting my fateful smoke, I was asked by the concession stand "security" guy to put out my smoke, as the whole of BOA is non-smoking. My fault, I oblige.

While putting out my smoke, I reflexively hit it one more time, which was enough for this security guy to say that I was not complying.

I was then, beyond my pleading of how insane this was, escorted out of the stadium, left to my own frustrated tears, and embarrassment.

Huddlers, did I do something more wrong than unknowingly smoke in a smoke free facility, and did it facilitate me being escorted out

I had to let this out, It was an absolute frustration all day.

I think its a bit harsh to kick you out of the game.  I am a non-smoker.  Always have been.  Some of these people are like little dictators.  You should have put it out immediately, but it is still very rude and extreme to kick you out.  Sorry you had such a bad experience.  BTW you should just give up smoking, it will affect your health negatively and not positively.

IMO... I think the "security" over reacted to the situation. I think it was a little extreme to remove you from the game.

They remove people for talking too loud, what do you expect when its a law. The guy did tell him to put it out and honestly he should have done so right then. Everyone on this board knows they are little dictators roaming BOA just itching to throw someone out so why give them a reason? I'm sure you could write Danny Morrison and explain it to him but that want get your game back.

The first game I went to was the SF game in Sept of 1996. Being just 20 at the time and in the thick of our going to outdoor music festivals phase we sat in our seats, took off our shirts, and lit up. The security guard was laughing as he told us we broke their two biggest rules. This was second game ever played there. They were a bit more flexible. Now all you see everywhere you look is the number for texting fan issues.

Honestly I think its more of a passive-aggressive mentality of America to day that causes this. No one wants to look back and say STFU, they rather text it to you.
