Anyone who says that hardy wants more than eight million a year because he turned down eight million a year really has no clue how NFL contracts work. None of us have any clue in what context eight million a year was offered. Was nearly none of it guaranteed? Was it up to eight million a year with bonus escalators he would probably never hit? Perhaps he'd be fine with seven million a year, 5 years, 25 mil guaranteed...

Also, we are assuming he was in fact offered and turned down a contract at all. All speculation.

Ginn is a good role player and I doubt he'll have the same success on a different team because most teams have an elite #1 WR and very good #2 so they don't really spread the ball around like we do. We're doing with quantity and soon we'll need quality receivers like everyone else to keep this boat afloat. Ginn needs us more than we need him.

If we lost Tolbert or Mike Mitchell things would change drastically.

 

If we lost Hardy, Ginn, or Cole, it would be next man up.

 

Ginn is a 3rd receiver and the second best punt returner on the team.

No one would pay any of those three big money, so we'll be fine.

Ginn will never be more than a #3 receiver and should be paid as such.

Cole is a nice to have not need to have.

Godfrey's salary will jump to $5 mil next year so if we can dump that and get Mitchell at no more than $2 million per for 3-4 years, we will have done well. I'd like to see us upgrade the safety position in the draft, but we have too many other needs.

 

Agreed! Ginn is a 3rd and a Punt Returner. He will be back though, Ron's college roommate runs the special teams and will get his way.

Mitchell is going to get paid.  Whether someone over pays for him that will be the question but he has shown enough where he will get paid.  Especially if he gets a Pro Bowl invite.  That will up the ante.

Cole and Ginn are great but they are not 1's. Being a 1's is very different than being a 2 or 3 adding to the game not dictating the game.

Mike Mitchell is a 1 and he dictates the game and I agree he should get paid. We won't let that talent walk.

Attitude and Passion.  He brings to the back four what the front seven have in Hardy, Johnson, Kuechly and Davis.   Attitude and Passion.
