It would be dumb to let Hardy walk for nothing if u can't resign him. Mitchell & Captain are key in my mind. Considering where he drafting or bring in a CB. If Cap doesn't want to much him being a starter & so good in the slot make him important. Where get the OLine upgraded believe that, no reason to shy away from stacking our defense anymore. I like Cole but him & Edwards can both be upgraded which would help make us more dominate.

We don't see it on the field but you can bet their experience is helping both Star and Short.   Cole was a big time free agent with Seattle so we know he has the ability to be a force.

Cole is getting a bit older so he should want to stay because he is comfortable and shouldn't demand too much.

Hardy is getting franchised.  You know Gettleman puts a lot of stock into defensive line and especially pass rushers.  You don't let a guy like Hardy walk for nothing.  I like Mitchell.  But lets be honest, our front 7 is covering up a lot of weaknesses in the secondary.  We can find another safety if he bolts for more money.

Cole is the easy one, he's into his mid 30s, a good rotational player.  I think he stays for relatively cheap depth.

Mitchell is going to be interesting.  Why was a career back up before lighting it up this year?  Why did he light it up this year?  Is this another Marlon McCree situation?  He's been great for us on several levels this year, and I'd love to keep him for the right price.

Hardy is the one I'm most on the fence about.  He already turned down $8 million a year.  I'd love to keep the gang together, but for $10 million?  With CJ out the past two weeks, he's not done a whole lot on the field.  I expected him to really step up.  Against the Bucs he did have a great sack, and lord knows the man plays with his heart.  I love the man-warrior mentality he's got going on there.  Hardy should have taken the $8 million from us to keep the band together, but he believes he's worth CJ money.  I just don't see that happening unless some magic occurs.  Like he becomes the dominate DE for us this last month and the play offs.  He's good, but not CJ good.

Mitchell was a second round pick who did nothing while he was in Oakland. This is really his first year of success in his career. It would be stupid to give him a lot of money. he deserves something reasonable nothing else at the moment.

Exactly.  He didn't have this type of front seven when he was in Oakland.

I think Mitchell could get a two year, $4.5 million type of contract and Ginn could take a one year one mill. What's concreting though is that I feel like we could get Mitchell for less or way way more, it all depends on how other teams see him. In my eyes, he's a top ten safety already and has been the best we've had in a long time. It would be nice to see him with us for a long time.

The Kraken might not be here next season. If he wants a 10 mill figure he'll have to go elsewhere. We still have Cam to lock up and we have enough depth at DE... Little known is Greg might not even get double digit sacks this season, and although he gets pressure even without all the sacks we can get the same production out of Wes and Addison. Plus, Alexander can fill in nicely. The extra cash could be used to obtain a quality right guard and a right tackle, and it wouldn't hurt to get a starting corner.
