Best damn Essay on Jake Delhomme this Offseason!

We should have at least another good year out of him. If his ability to hold onto the ball gets any worse he should definitely be on the chopping block.

Where did that come from, surely not from the facts. Jake fumbled the ball 5 times and lost 3. Less than one for every five games. Compare that to Kurt Warner who fumbled 11 times and lost 7. Or Rivers who fumbled 8 and lost 4. I didn't look at the whole list just picked the 2 close to the top of the list based on passer rating.

Another urban legend debunked.

We will likely hear "and all those guys passed more".

Yeah I know. Doesn't mean he's as bad as some people think in that category. I would call him average there. It's one of those things were perhaps people need to watch more other QBs and see what the norm is.

I always look at sacks instead of overall passing since for the most part fumbles usually come when a defender knocks the ball out as he is about to throw which counts as a sack and forced fumble or he get squished and the ball comes out.

So by comparison Jake got sacked 20 times he fumble once per 7 sacks. Rivers got sacked 24 times so he fumbled once per every 7 sacks as well. Warner got sacked 26 times so he fumbled once per every 4 sacks.

He is average on everything else so I got no problem with that.

No every single one of your post have suggested Jake is an average QB and not a liability. I think he is one.

okay... my immediate reaction isn't one I'ma post here.. okay, perhaps it is, what in the fug are you talking about? I think he's an average QB? No poo! lmfao... for real?

So now, what is your point?

What are you wanting to argue about? Apparently something.. How about the right way to tie your shoes? Or how to effectively cut down a tree... Perhaps, the best way to pump gas or deal cards...

You name it, I'm sure there are a few others on here willing to help out...

These guys just keep coming out of the wood work...

I think what he is saying here is that you think Delhomme's average, which is true and not a liability. While he thinks he's below average and is a liability, which is not true, unless you take 3 out of 17 games into consideration and ignore the rest...

anyone that thinks Jake Delhomme is below average is just an idiot.. Look at all the QBs in the league. Obviously, this person doesn't think clearly when they post.

Thanks for the clarification... His post now sounds that much worse, lol...

IMO I think he played poorly in 5 to 6 games in 08 which is average for him.

Some of us do not believe in Jake. We are going to let you know. Get over it.

so what are you saying, you agree with me then?

sounds like it, and there is plenty of criticism to go around, what is there to get over with? You obviously don't understand where I'm coming from... if you did, you would understand what you just said sounds foolish...

This goes for everyone thinking I am 180 degrees different in opinion... you obviously aren't reading what I'm saying.

And that's okay... can't say I expect anything less after the last few days....

They are young and dumb guys . . . they can't help it. Their female counterparts are at home waiting for Prince Charming to come Marry them and live happily ever after.

Jake Delhomme is an Above Average Quarterback in my opinion. He has strengths. He has weaknesses. It is up to him to maximize his strengths and to work on his weaknesses. It is up to his coaches to put him in situations where his strengths can carry the day and his weaknesses are not forced into play.

His strengths and weaknesses we've been over dozens of times. My read is his strengths are better than the average quarterback. He is in the top tier of 4th quarter comeback win the game type of quarterback. He is not a put the team on his back I'll win the game type of quarterback . . . there are 2 maybe 3 in the league right now like that . . . less than 10% of starting QB's. That is an outlier, way above average QB though Jake has had his games where even that might be debated he is a bit older now I'm not interested in such a debate. And yes even those top 10%+ have had meltdown games . . . if we looked at the coaching decisions in those games . . . . lol

We have a very Good Quarterback who is actually a Great Quarterback For our team as it was built around Jake Delhomme and his skill set . . .

Jake does have a history of fumbling though...granted he has improved.

03- 15 fumbles

04- 12 fumbles

05- 12 fumbles

in 06 and 08 there was noticeable improvement.

Hello!

I agree w/ most of that. I would however say he is average...but in this offense is an above average QB based on what is built around him and chemistry w/ WRs.

Hello!

fixed... and very well put.. if only it were easy to point out every little detail that we assume others already understood, there wouldn't be these extreme debates...
