Best damn Essay on Jake Delhomme this Offseason!

Unfortunately, the Panther's starting 22, kicker, punter, long snapper and field goal kicker are not all franchise quality. Some aren't cool with that. That's their decision and they have to live with it. The tough part would be having exactly zero ability to change the situation.

I had a blast last year even though I thought the playoff game against Arizona was a travesty. Anyone who follows sports knows those things happen. I like the lineup we are bringing back. We'll see what happens. One thing is for certain, there were virtually no reasonable scenarios in the off season that would have given us even a possible upgrade at QB.

"As one of the dog pack lets review: Jake is our franchise quarterback like it or not and he is average, which is what Fox wants"

Thank you,,,that one line there pretty much sums it all up. Some of us just arent cool with that, and some are. That doesnt make us simplistic or ignorant.

I did not want to list 3 pages worth of examples, but regarding the Seattle game.....Davis and Foster were hurt and Seattle pretty much triple teamed Smitty. This is a worst case scenerio for Fox. (Relying on the pass to win the game)

Jake is all we had, and he could not get the ball to anybody else on the team. To Jake/'s credit Colbert and Carter suck and just like Foster we held them for too long.

I was just telling you what gets under our skin nothing more.

We are not a fan conservative formula using an average QB, it is very one dementional. Like said before though , we have all the pcs in place to win this year using Fox's formula so there is reason for high hopes....GO PANTHERS!

Whether you are cool with that or not is irrelevant. You don't have a choice or say in it not do I or any other fan. You can bitch all the want but since it isn't going to change, why waste so much energy about something that "is what it is".

As for Seattle, we had no running game, no second or third receiver and they tripled Smith all day. It wasn't daring Jake to beat us, it was taking the only weapon we had at the time away and we had nothing. That offense was a lot more one dimensional that our current one and using that game to discuss how to attack us now is ignorant and simplistic.

I was just telling you what gets under most of our skins which is making up crap to create controversy or paint the majority as complacent, accepting mediocrity etc. We just don't constantly bitch about something we can't change. You would think if you guys are so unhappy you would find another team to root for. I hear that everyone of our division rivals have a better quarterback than us. Why not start rooting for them, they have a franchise quarterback and we have only Jake.

Stop using logic you complacent "average loving" realist!

Ugh! Most teams have average QBs. How many elite QBs are ever playing at the same time in the NFL? 3 or 4 at the most? Average is what we have. I have a friend that hates Jake, but loves Grossman. ???? I don't understand that one but whatever. These threads are silly, because you are never going to convince the other side what you feel and believe. If Average wins that's all that really matters. And with our running game, average is all we need.

There you go again Panther....I was being civil and you have to get all ugly.

I have not bashed him since a week after his re-signing.

I said it is water under the bridge a while back and am looking foward to the season.

All I was doing was informing you as to why these Jake dramas get so heated, and as you just proved AGAIN - we dont always provoke the hating.

The dogs belittle people who dont agree with them.

Just because some fans disagree with strategies we shouldnt post??

Should the security in Chicago ejected fans for talking trash or displaying signs about Grossman?

Its a discussion board get over yourself.

How is what I said getting nasty? I didn't call you a name, use a curse word or in anyway get nasty. I used the ignorant word but it was directed to the comment not the person. Intelligent people sometimes say ignorant things.

Seems to me that in order to create controversy and play the victim card, you are making things up.

Your remarks were very negative and to suggest for fans to route for another team because we do not like the NEVER ENDING QB situation and/or concern over being to one dimensional is ridiculous. I used the Seattle game because it had similarities to our most recent playoff game. You are correct to say "That offense was a lot more one dimensional that our current one " and yet we had to rely on the passing game with the same result. Blame it on roster, coaching or the qb. Fact is , we lost our last two playoff games decisively because our run game was taken away and we had to rely soley on the pass.

Ths isnt hating on the team, its a reoccurring concern.

The Arizona Game, our running game wasn't taken away. We abandoned it. Why? I have no idea. Jake wasn't playing bad at the time. So even though Jake turned the ball over 6 times. I still say our coaching lost that game more than Jake. And remember, the other team also wants to win the game.

And in our last two playoff loses, didn't we lose to a Superbowl team? I don't think that so bad. I wish we had won the games, but at least we didn't lose to a team that lost the next week.

As long as Jake is here we will never have consecutive deep playoff runs or titles of any kind.

A dynasty will never happen with this regime, because we continually execute a one way street strategy.

Since you can see the future so definitively,I assume you are retired on your lottery winnings?

If we had a number of games where our running game was taken away and our passing game sucked last year, then it is a recurring theme, but it didn't. In fact in the second half of the year teams stacked the box and we still ran over them and passed as well.

Playoff games seperated by 3 years with a largely different cast of characters is hardly recurring. Our run game wasn't taken away against Arizona, we for whatever reason abandoned it. And I think it was coaching as well as poor execution. But it hardly provides a script for the future. Hopefully we win a few playoff games this year and last year's loss is just an ugly memory.

You critics read too much into events which are unique and unrelated other than they both occurred in the postseason. I don't see the Giants too worried yet Manning blew in the playoffs with a 43 rating. Each year is different and stands on its own. Each team creates it own identity, personaity, and character. 2008 is over, why not let it rest. If we suck in 2009, then you have a story and something to bitch about. Otherwise it is in the past, better left there. Don't really know why you masochistic folks want to keep dredging it up. Wait until you actually have something to whine about this year.

see, there you go. you just discredited everything you will ever say by just this one post.

Claim whatever you want, but your basis is fabricated at best..

You will not find one post where I say Jake is anything more than an average QB...

Thats why I said, show me. Don't pretend... Don't lie.

No every single one of your post have suggested Jake is an average QB and not a liability. I think he is one.
