this team the best in Panthers history?

Davis wouldn't do much this year....less than Tolbert IMO ( Tolbert a better reciever). A prime 89 with Cam would be crazy.

I still would argue if you look at the offensive players around the QB.....2013 is a weaker cast than LOTS of seasons. Not just the playoff teams

I'd rather have Davis than JStew, I'll say that.

Honestly, I still think we're one year away from really seeing what this team is made of.

The OL is a problem, but only has one or two holes to fill to completely reverse that notion. Same for the secondary.

The team is rallying together and riding on a wave of confidence in its coaching staff and each other. That in itself can propel us far into the playoffs. Knowing what this team can do with this current squad, I think we need one more offseason before we can consider this team as the best in franchise history.

You sir could not be more right. "This Team", even with our O-line, is of elite quality. It plays smart hardnosed football. Very rarely beats themselves, and makes you work your azz off for every thing you get. All the while beating you up like the Bully we are.

Top of the line Defense, top 10, and rising like a rocket Offense, that my friends is a lethal combination.

Hellz, Cam had 2 INTs, and we still won by 3 TDs. That is a sign of a good football team.

We are young, we may, or may not, have what it takes this year. All I know, is that "This Team" is only in its infancy. Whatever success we achieve this year, is only going to aid in our development, and make us stronger in the long run.

HOF QB. HOF MLB. HOF Coach. Oh yeah, I went there. Hey, if G-man hangs around long enough, and Cam is Cam his whole career, Rivera gonna rack up some wins up in here. This system can work with a lot of QBs, I know, I know, not the running so much. Give Rivera a decent mobile QB, and he will give you a winner. Hellz, let's go there. Give Rivera a middle of the pack QB, and he will give you a winner.

Two HOF careers growing up together. This is gonna be fun.

But...yeah..."This Team", as is, can compete with any one, any time, any where.

I think this is the bests all-around team.

The 2005 offense was better....and the 2003 defense might have been better.

But as a whole...yes.

I was going to break it down like this as well.  However, the 96 defense was awesome and I put it up there with the 2003 Defense, and the 2003 offense was the best  to me only because injuries plagued 2005 backfield late in season.  I make both comments from memory without regarding stats.

Defensive wise maybe. Offensive no. 2003 team had more big plays and a better running game that this team has right now. I would say the running game has gone down since the injuries at RG. Nate has done well but still learning. 2003 we had SS, Moose and Ricky. SS was younger (3rd year I think) and more explosive then. Moose was in his prime (set NFL record for longest TD REC in Super bowl). 2003 Defense was top 5 I believe.
