Plz die.

Tough guy

It's scary how good this team is now with what we have on the OL and secondary. Give Gettleman a solid offseason to fill our holes and this team can easily be called the best in franchise history. Not there yet, though...

No, I'm not a tough guy, just not an idiot. Its 2013 if you haven't checked and there is a salary cap in the NFL. No team can be a consistent winner with every hole filled, and if they do, it lasts a year until they have to release someone. Go ask Carl Nicks why he still isn't on the Saints, or Revis why he is in Tampa, or Peyton Manning why his contract was terminated in Indy when the rest of the team wasn't proportionate to the money Irsay was paying him.

Its about synergy and a little magic. We have everything we need to win now as proven by the last 8 games. Next year there is a  50% chance Hardy will leave for more money and I'm sure you're going to be talking poo about our pass rush while Brees, Rodgers, and Brady all carry their teams to winning records while the team around them is piss poor without them, meanwhile they make more than anyone else on their respective team's and it stays that way. For the most part, this is what are team will be like for the next 10 years, only with pieces falling off as Cam gets better to adhere to the salary cap and the increasing wage we pay him.

Of course nothing is guaranteed in this age of the NFL. There's no denying that this is our time to make the push into the playoffs and into the Super Bowl.

But the best teams are able to sustain players leaving for free agency and plug and play on the fly. We have done the latter with "lesser" talented players which will require that synergy and magic even more to ensure we stay on fire throughout the playoffs. We're not far off from where we could be in the future and it only took a few filled holes last year to really aid in developing our current defense. I'm not talking about unrealistically landing big time players but rather added depth (via FA or draft) that could help our weaker positions. Anything less than that effort will make us just another flash in the pan.
