Why wasn't that a fumble?

I watch the games at a bar so I had no sound, but no part of his body was close to touching the ground, what did they call it as?

The refs claim no clear recovery despite the fact Davis came out with the ball, and video showed his black gloves cradling the ball.

Was ruled that he did fumble it, but no one had clear control of it before they went into the pile.

The refs have been horrible all year... It's just worked in our Favor more often than not this year... Which is obviously a good thing.

We should have been awarded the football, but the messed up the call. Davis clearly came out with the ball which constitutes a clear recovery.

Alas, it was meaningless. As long as we get the calls that count I for one, will Not be mad

Who cares? We won any way. The fumble call was called late in the game. It ain't like it was going to cost us the game or something.

It was not called a fumble on the field, so refs were not looking for "who recovered the ball"  replays showed VJ had no 2 hands on ball but not clear possession. Davis got possession in scrum.  No ref ruled that Davis came out with possession and replay cannot "establish" possession.  basically, the right call in review but refs should have seen ball hit the ground.  If they had seen the ball loose the entire play would have been handled differently.

The receiver had both hands on the ball after he fumbled it.  If he only had one hand touching while trying to scramble to bring it in, the play would have probably resulted in a turnover.  As it were, we won.  Go Panthers!!

With the call overturned, how come we got charged a timeout? Didn't think we could challenge the recovery without challenging the fumble in the first place.
