I feel he thought (rightly) that this game is in hand and he didn't want to put an extra hit on his QB (who the play would have likely gone through if we went for it on 4th down).

there's really no functional difference to the game at this point.

 

either way they need 3 scores...

 

but meh, 21 > 18.  not a big deal either way at this point in the game.

Three td's (which would be highly unlikely at this point in the game) would only tie the game now. 

 

18 point lead means 3td's would win.  Or two td's, one 2pt conversion, and a field goal tie it.  Highly unlikely it will matter either way, but he made the right decision imo.
