Yet almost every year there is a team that doesn't have all the parts or has been inconsistent that makes it to the superbowl.

Once you are in the playoffs you are a superbowl contender

Well said. With a salary cap, every team, even Super Bowl winners have weaknesses. Gettleman never had great corners in NY - instead he invested in pass rushers and I expect this trend to continue.

Postseason conditions of the Super Bowl actually play against teams like Denver (heck the postseason I general at their Homefield does) and NO.....heck, I'd take a teams like SF over Denver in NY come February.

Plus, look at the number of wildcard teams that make the Super Bowl in recent history.....last decade the 1 seeds haven't proven to have greater odds.

Anything can happen.....and does.

Denver and Saints have little shot of winning it all IMO. They aren't as complete as you suggest IMO. Super Bowl isn't in dome and you don't even know where they will play in the postseason.

The gap between say a Seattle and a fringe team IMO is nowhere near what you suggest.....if it was a team like Tampa would go to Seattle and take it to the edge.

If it weren't for a couple of Boneheaded plays were are looking at one of the best records in football.   We are solid on defense and have shown the ability to put points up when we have to.   All the Contender teams mentioned have flaws.   We have our but as the season progress and our confidence grows.   I think we are contenders.

I would like to see how Cam steps up in the playoffs.   Will he go to the next level.   I have a feeling he will.

Both have a better chance than we do. As do the Pats. As do the Hawks. Arguably, a couple of other teams (Lions & Chiefs come to mind) may have a better shot as well.

Really ???? The Saints have holes all over their defense that they hide with aggressive play calling. They run to the ball but they aren't that good.

Chiefs ???  Have you seen Alex Smiths numbers this year? Plus their number 1 receiver is an idiot. He could do something dumbfounded the night before their 1st playoff game.

You give the Panthers no credit but give all sorts of praise to every other team you mentioned. I don't get your viewpoint, but it is your opinion so I will respect it.

Panthers are playing brilliantly this far. But I think I put experience higher than most.

I get the need to have experience, but I feel players are either playmakers or they aren't. We have a few playmakers on both sides of the ball that gives us a fighters chance.

Mitchell, TD, Luke and our d-line on defense

Cam,Steve Smith and our running backs on offense.

I agree we have some holes in the secondary and on the offensive line, but I am hopeful Nate continues to improve at right guard.

We need CJ back for a chance against the top QB's such as Brees.

Playmakers vs consistency vs trash. I feel like we have a major mix of playmaker and trash, while a lot of the top teams have a mix between playmakers and consistency. Although I'm fairly intoxicated so I really don't know what i'm saying right now.

Forgot to mention Olsen... a great TE can't be underestimated. He's had some uncharacteristic drops this year, but he's also been pretty clutch and his blocking prowess is not nearly as bad as advertised from his Chi days. So so so glad to have gotten him for a third.

    • Start with Bryce, this is like his rookie year. The 1st 2 games proved her was wired wrong and it looks like (we hope) he needed a time out to reset and be the player that was drafted. He's still about a year or more away from being a top 15 QB, if the Panther give him another playmaker or 2 (a top WR and a decent TE) and maintain that line. Canales deserves credit as playing that card correctly to motivate (or refocus) his QB for one last shot to decide his and the Panthers immediate future. As a Panther fans we should hope he keeps improving as we invested so much to get him. CJ Stroud will never have a season like he had, even if he stays a top 10 QB. He's got great character so I'm rooting for Bryce to continue on his positive journey. Canales is playing the week to week thing with bryce perfectly. Nothings guaranteed, earn it weekly which builds consistency and consistency is greatness.  Keep the O-line. They've got to extend Brady C, along with Mayes that have a real good 7. Great job Morgan starting with the big guys upfront.  I really hope they draft a DE or OLB in the 1st round. Getting Brown back with A Robinson and what DJ has shown that we can have a decent D-line. Need a CB in the early rounds/ or a time FA to go with Horn.  The future as to next year being good enough to challenge for the division is within reach. Just show progress (win or lose) every week. Kudos to Dan Morgan. Plays GM like a LB. Tackle the problem and move on, don't just hope it works out. Find guys with your playing mentality and work closely with your HC to share a vision. Teamwork starts at the top and flows down.
    • Since we play the Panthers today and tmrw, we will have one gigantic double thread for both games. Today’s game is at 3pm and tmrw is 7pm.    After beating the Rangers and sending the those yankee bastards back to Cary, we get the Champs in the house.  Clean up the defense, no more lazy clears, and score baby score.  LFG CANES!
