Carolina works out four RBs

Only for precautionary reasons, I guess.

The Panthers are likely doing due diligence and being cautious, but this is a situation worth keeping an eye on. None of the four running backs the Panthers worked out are much good, though they are quality options as emergency depth. Former Jacksonville Jaguars RB Jalen Parmele, intriguing back Kahlil Bell, former Denver Broncos quality depth backup Lance Ball, and veteran Brandon Jackson were all worked out by the Panthers.

Stewart appears to be having some ankle issues again, remember reading this on twitter via the Panthers feed. That could be he only reason that we are looking to sign a RB. If this is true, then it doesnt look like he may ever be healthy enough to last a full season. Had high hopes for him as a featured back, but this may never come to pass.

He had ankle issues after coming back with no off season to speak of. Do you expect everything to be hunky dory? TD gets acupuncture on his knee every week and it seems to be swollen to the size of a softball. Nothing to see here.

I actually don't think that is the case.

This was tweeted by Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider) earlier today, we signed Smith two days ago.

Workouts are only held on Tuesdays. We signed Armond to PS two days ago, which was Tuesday.

#Panthers worked out 3 RBs on Tues: Brandon Jackson, Lance Ball, and Jalen Parmele. RB Kahlil Bell visited.

Not trying to sound disrespectful, but do you really think that we are working guys out to replace a guy next season?

That doesn't make much sense when we are in the thick of the playoff race.

To sound disrespectful, what I think is that my post was, was nothing more than a thought of what could be a reason or one of many, as to why we're working out 4 RB's when we are in the thick of the playoff race.

And you asked do I really think that we are working guys out to replace a guy next season? Yes I think that it makes perfect sense. If we can find someone with similar attributes to the player we'd like to release, cut or trade, why not. What if Stew is still hurting and we're looking for someone to fill in so that we can put him (Stew) on IR.

  • What doesn't make sense is trying to be disrespectful after saying you're not trying to be...

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
