Jason Kidd didn't have any timeouts left. The Nets needed to stall in order to have some time to draw up a play. Check out the GIF -- Kidd tells guard Tyshawn Taylor to bump into him, causing him to spill his drink on the court, thus giving Brooklyn the time they needed to figure out a play.

So... what do you guys think? Gamesmanship or great strategy?

Note: Just imagine if the Nets would have won this game on the play that Kidd drew up because of the 'Cola Time Out'.

Kidd has always been one of those guys that knows how to get the most out of everything he does.  He thinks of things that no one else would in certain situations...  Just hyper-aware of everything and any and every possible advantage he can gain over an opponent, and this is just another example...

If I recall correctly, I was once watching a game where JKidd ran up court as the other team was expecting a timeout, he dribbles across mid-court, starts his way over to the ref while keeping his dribble, all the other players start walking off the court anticipating the timeout, and Kidd quickly dribbles away and cuts to the basket for an easy layup, lol...

Another time, I think it was when he was with the Mavs, early on in his second stint with them, and I believe it was when Mike Woodson was a coach with the Hawks still...  Woodson was mad about something IIRC, and he stepped out on the court to protest, so JKidd took the ball and dribbled full-speed into Woodson before he could get off the court, and IMMEDIATELY flailed as though he just hit a brick wall and told the ref he had to call something, lol...

I think it's funny.  Smart move he you can get away with it.  But, the league KNOWS JKidd, so he just lost 50k, lol.
