RG III is also a very smart dude. He sees how Cam is being treated by the media and isn't going to let it happen to him.

I watched part of his live interview this afternoon. He's intelligent, sharp, and very no nonsense. Those at the presser really don't know how to handle him because he's not one to be afraid to tell them when he feels they are out of line and he's not afraid to cry foul if he feels he's not being treated the way he believes he should be. I admire that about him. But by the same token, it is guys like him who those in the media realize they can't fug with like they can the Cam types, who are more easier to stereotype and box in because of their image. 

 

Those in the media now believe they control these players in the NFL and in turn feel some level of powered over them. The lower lever reporters are insulted by RG because of their own belief that these athletes should cow down to them. RG is propped up by the ESPN/NFLN half of the sports media. The half with the real clout in that world. They are the ones are defending RG but they are also the ones bringing to light what others are saying about him.  

 

This is nothing more than the battle of the Alpha-Male egos. Sadly, some in the media will gripe about RG II but take their fustration and bruised egos out on guys like Cam.

I'm so glad Bob is getting exposed. Couldn't stand to hear people say he was going to be one of the greatest in the game and other BS like that. He's just not NFL material. And he has proven it from the start. Last year, he had his knees, so that gave him his running ability that threw teams off (like most running QBs do). Now that he doesn't have that, he has to be a true-passer with the ability to escape if he absolutely has to....and he's not that.

If you really observe Cam, he's a lot like Smitty. He takes what he does very seriously and although he love his accolades, is about helping, not hurting his team.

I was wondering today how sports media turned in to a drama fed tabloid circus. We have come to enjoy tearing other players down to feel better about our own. Every fan base does this. Its so un football and more like a soap opera. I dont enjoy it happening to Newton and I dont like seeing it regarding rivals either. Some trash talk is one thing but out right hatred just seems manufactured.

That was one of stupids things people on this board thought of

yes it was a subpar performance on Cams part but

 

1. Zona's defense was well into its own at this point,  a very good defense

2. Cam was doing fine before then

3. Who exactly are you going to bench Cam for? Derek Anderson

 

A long list of reasons why that was such an asinine thought

 

Cam isn't safe from anybody even his own fans
