Cam looks up to Vick and you could even say idolized him growing up in Atlanta. Vick knows his time as being "the guy" is over. Vick also had to overcome some maturity issues. With Cams ongoing maturation, Vick would do wonders for Cam. If there's one player in the NFL that Cam looks up to its Vick.

Vick wanted to come to Carolina before and I believe he can still play, his problem is that he can't stay healthy. He would be a very good back up for this team.

The only thing is I would want to carry a 3rd qb if Vick was the #2.

as injury prone and essentially broken down as he is, you would have to have more insurance there. 

 

i don't think he was completely serious about wanting to come here, tho...i think he just wanted to go anywhere and the only reason beyond, "hey man. i'm just desperate for a job" was he liked the uniforms.

 

i think he can still play, just not very well....esp. not enough to warrant having to add another QB to the roster.

This a terrible idea.  This might be homerism, but I honestly think Cam is a more developed pocket passer then Vick is.  There is little to nothing Vick could really teach Cam at this point.  Vick brings with him  the media, and will be way more trouble then he's worth, even if he comes in at veteran minimum.  If we wanted to get a mobile "Cam-like" backup, I rather go after someone like Dennis Dixon.

If we're just looking for a player for Cam to "look up to", I'm sorry but Vick is the absolute last guy we want.

 

Personally, I'd rather not have a quarterback who flipped off his own fans, in his own stadium, as a mentor to our quarterback.
