2014 NFL draft underclassman watch

last year broke the record set the previous year with underclassman declaring for the NFL draft (65).lets have one thread with declares, and updates.

Draft insider Tony Pauline reports that Colorado redshirt junior WR Paul Richardson will enter the NFL draft.

Buffalos head coach Mike MacInyre told reporters last week that he would not twist Richardson's arm to stay in Boulder next season, but it appears that the star receiver has already made up his mind to leave. Richardson, who missed last season with a knee injury, has collected 79 catches for 1,289 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2013. His slender frame (6-foot-1, 170 pounds) will ensure durability questions persist, but we like Richardson's deep speed and big-play ability.

Former Vanderbilt junior WR Chris Boyd will enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

Boyd was dismissed from the school after he allegedly assisted in a cover-up that included other players on the football team. His charges were reduced to a misdemeanor. Boyd also revealed he considered transferring to Penn State or Wisconsin, but finally chose on leaving for the NFL. He is currently working out in preparation for the draft process.

UNC junior TE Eric Ebron announced his intent to enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

Head coach Larry Fedora said Ebron will participate in the team's senior activities. "I couldn't ask for anything more for a season... couldn't imagine a better way to end career than to beat Duke and get the Victory Bell back," Ebron said. The athletic tight end could be the first prospect at the position off the board in May. He's got solid movement skills, displays alignment versatility, and has improved his consistency at the catch point.

Ohio State junior cornerback Bradley Roby will declare for the 2014 NFL Draft following the end of the Buckeyes' season, head coach Urban Meyer said Wednesday.

Meyer said Roby, who was expected to leave the Buckeyes after this season, will be honored on "Senior Day" when Ohio State plays host to Indiana on Saturday.

Alabama State junior, and former Georgia Bulldog, RB Isaiah Crowell will enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

Crowell has rushed for 1,089 yards and 15 touchdowns this season on 163 carries. He has added seven receptions for 27 yards. Crowell's biggest knock will be off-field questions, but since leaving Georgia on a weapons charge, which was later dismissed, the running back has earned praise from those affiliated with the Alabama State program.

Florida junior CB Loucheiz Purifoy will enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

We expect to hear a lot of this regarding much of Florida's draft-eligible talent. Purfioy is a great athlete, but he struggles with technique and loses ground because of it. Part of the could be caused from spending time on offense prior to the season.

and South Carolina junior cornerback Victor Hampton both confirmed on Saturday that they intend to give up their remaining eligibility to enter the 2014 NFL Draft

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/nfl-draft-scout/24306339/pair-of-sec-junior-cornerbacks-headed-to-nfl

edit: Victor Hampton is actually from charlotte, and played at independence before transfering to darlington, sc. a good mid round CB who has #1 potential. really good coverage guy.

UConn redshirt junior LB Yawin Smallwood will declare for the NFL draft.

Smallwood is one of the few talented players on UConn's defense and projects as an inside linebacker in the NFL. The position might be somewhat week in this year's class, and we see Smallwood as a likely second day selection. He registered two sacks against Marshall on Saturday.

Tennessee junior Antonio “Tiny” Richardson will forego his final season of eligibility in Knoxville to enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

Notre Dame junior NT Louis Nix III has signed with an agent and will declare for the draft, according to Liz Mullen.

Nix signed with 5 Star Athlete Management agents Todd France and Brian Ayrault. The junior will not play in the school's bowl game due to season ending Mencius surgery, an injury he played on for a good portion of the season. His play was down a bit in 2013, and that can partially be attributed to tendinitis, but we still remember the Vince Wilfork-like flashes from 2012. He shines as a one or zero technique.

he might be there, but he has been clean since his last incident in Athens. that could help his draft stock, i really think mid round is the best value for RBs.

I wouldn't even think about him in the third or earlier. Maybe the fourth, but it would really depend on who was there. If someone takes him before then, let them have him.

I'm worried the guy will be Maurice Clarrett.

i hope we dont sniff a RB until the 6th with the current backfield and money we have invested. but i think he goes around the 4th-5th round to a team that needs a RB much more. i dont think he is in the mold of a Clarett because he has been some what quite over the past 2 years since getting kicked off the UGA football team.

He will go undrafted. Colt got busted for cocaine after being dismissed from the Oregon program less than two months ago. G-Man ain't gonna touch him.

Yeah your most likely right, just a shame that someone with so much talent can't get his head out of his a$$. But that goes for quite a few guys.

the sad part is, we could have picked up DaRick for peanuts and today he goes off for 6 catches over 100 yards and 2 TDs. that goes to say, sometimes you just have to take chances. taking a chance on DaRick would not been a huge money issue, but his skill set would have been well worth the risk. the colts may have found their replacement for Wayne in the future #1 guy.

same issue with Colt. if he stays clean from here to the draft, i believe you should take a chance on him because his talent says so. DaRick had been good since getting kicked off UT football team, so now the colts have a good prospect for nothing.

Rutgers redshirt junior WR Brandon Coleman has declared for the NFL Draft.

Coleman 2012 season was much better than this past year, and evaluators will have to determine if that was due to poor quarterback play, injury, a regression in talent or a combination of the three. Coleman does boast great length and build up speed. He's likely a top-75 selection.

Western Kentucky junior S Jonathan Dowling declared for the 2014 NFL draft.

Dowling, a Florida transfer, was a first team All-Sun Belt selection this season. A former four-star recruit, Dowling has nice range and can make plays on the ball in the air. The 6-foot-3, 198-pounder played two seasons with the Hilltoppers.

Tennessee State TE A.C. Leonard declared for the NFL draft.

The former Florida Gator transferred before the 2012 season after running into off the field issues in Gainesville. Leonard, a former prized recruit, couldn't beat out Jordan Reed at UF and then was charged with domestic battery. Despite possessing enviable physical attributes, he's not assured of being drafted.

New Mexico State junior WR Austin Franklin has declared for the NFL Draft.

The junior caught 52 passes for 670 yards and seven touchdowns this season. Franklin apparently did not consult his head coach, Doug Martin, on the decision. "The Dallas, Texas native has shown ability to be a possible professional prospect: strong and physical, Franklin was moved around throughout the formation in 2013 and displayed his penchant as a play maker," beat writer Teddy Feinberg writes.

Former Notre Dame and USF redshirt sophomore DE Aaron Lynch has signed with an agent and will declare for the draft, according to Neil Stratton.

The school has confirmed the report. Lynch was a powerhouse pass rusher who combined strength, length, and athleticism in his one season with the Irish. After sitting out a season due to transfer rules, Lynch looked like a fairly different player for the Bulls both physically and stylistically. Still, he is a very intriguing prospect and still has a chance to be in the top-40.
