Warning: Trap Game Incoming

Give it a rest you bunch of whiny babies. The only thing we should be worried about is if we beat them by two TDs or three. Tampa might be playing better, but we are superior in every phase of the game.

This isn't a trap game, this is a damn statement game. This is the game where we send a clear message to New Orleans, and that message is "We're coming for you next."

Final score 27-13

It won't be an easy game, but I expect that this game is less likely to be a trap game than the Miami game.  Tampa is in our Division, and we are absolutely looking to keep pace with Seattle.  TB may very well beat us straight up, but I don't expect our guys to necessarily let off the gas with respect to what they've been doing.  If anything, our offense will need to recapture some of their earlier season momentum headed into the final stretch of the regular season

i'm not buying it.

i mean it could be one, but i don't think it's one that the panthers will fall into.

two things....

1) underestimated miami and, as smith was saying, they started believing their own press clippings and took it easy the first half. tye were getting beat down in a big way, but their eyes were opened up at halftime and the players and coaches made adjustments to get things back on track. i think that left a big imprint on their brains to not walk into any game thinking that they can come into any game and just walk out with a win with very little fight. i've got to think that what hardy said yesterday on espn30 holds true for the rest of the team (and yes, i posted in another thread but whatever)

2) the bucs have won three in a row and just beat the lions (who should have and would have had the lead in the NFCN if they hadn't overlooked the bucs and gotten beat), before that they beat the dolphins and the falcons, and before that almost beat the seahawks in seattle. the bucs have had a serious turnaround in the last month and i don't think you can look at that team and think "cakewalk". it's still a division rivalry and that team is evidently fighting and winning now. they can't be overlooked. the panthers can't afford to not walk into that game and think "this is going to be a brawl".

i'm not worried about the panthers perception walking on their field on sunday or any field for that matter. i see resolve. i mean you may see more getting to be on the field with them and all, but i see a team that dozed off for a moment and started getting beat up, but woke right back up, made adjustments, and pulled it together. i see a team that is now looking at every team on their schedule as someone to take seriously and who is trying to stand in their way to be the best in the league. if they take their foot off the gas, they lose...it's that simple. i think they understand that.

You have been preaching this for a while now. We can only hope Ron Ron has finally figured this one out as well. You have to give him credit. He has grown into a pretty good coach. Talent doesn't hurt, but it's what you do with said talent. He has done wonders. Wonder how long he can keep this staff together?

Where was I? Pedal to the metal is pretty much the norm round here anymore. Aggressive, in your face, push you around and pretty much beat you up, just like the Big Brother Bully of the block. Offense? Yup. Defense? Yup. ST? Best we've had up in here in a long time.

This game is at home which should help.  I hope that last week was a wakeup call. Tampa is getting better and reminds me of us last year, we started really slow and came on late to try and save the season and the coaches job.

I think we have more talent but expect Tampa to come out blitzing after seeing what happened in Miami.  Hopefully we have a better game plan to account for that. And hopefully Johnson is back.

Heard some talking head say they were this years Panthers. Lost a few games they could have won. Better than their record. Yada yada yada.

I think we were pretty dynamic, they are functionally literate.

I believe last week was our wake up call. Great teams don't take games off. One game at a time, our next game is our biggest game.

We all love that "Next game is the next big game" mentality the Panthers are showing. How'd that work out last week? Not so well. But hey, we won. That is something I can live with.

This will not be the case if we fug around and lose to the Bucs.  This team knows that.

Secondly.... Its a rivalry.  These cats cant wait to put a smackin on the Bucs.  It's in their DNA to want to hurt those butt-pirates.

How can someone that claims we can spank the Bucs, also think we can lose? It would take superhuman strength for them to beat us. tampon doesn't possess it. 8-3 baby. You are either all in, or you aren't really in.

Takes one to know one.

Beating tampon isn't a statement. Spanking them isn't a statement. After beating SF in their house, and the Pats at home, on consecutive weeks, after both had gotten byes. That was a Statement. The aints believe me, they already know we are coming. Beating the bux aint changing a thing in that regard.

I don't think that's what I said. I worded that a little awkwardly but I firmly believe we can and will beat the bucs. I've been in since been in. Our defense is too good to let a rival come in and punk us on our home turf.

Which in turn makes sweet potato pie the Mario Addison of pies. Serviceable, roll player, situationally subbed in when the time is right.

More like Alexander, sleek and fills in nicely by itself.

I make a mean sweet potato casserole. I have to make 5 for the hillbilly's. Everyone wants to take one home. I put carameled pecans under my whipped cream. Wish I'd a known about sweet potato casserole back when I smoked.

The amount of wrong in this thread is astounding.

Sweet potato.

No boubt adout it brother.

I guess it was because you led with the fact that you didn't want us to fug up and lose. Negative leads set a negative tone. Or maybe I just took it wrong.

Either way, keep on keeping on.
