What those numbers say to me is we have a great QB and an ok set of skill players.

Olsen is a very good more classic TE (not a hybrid freak like Gronk or Graham). Smitty is a better version of 03 Proehl. We have no # 1 receiver or stud back to take over games.

The offense lives and dies with Cam. The defense can hold off the opposition until Cam can get his head back in game if he plays poorly, but they can't win games (unless the other team's O is horrid).

If he never gets back in the game? A 22-6 loss

He's really not much of a deep threat to be honest.  He just doesn't have the ball skills to locate the ball and make a play on it unless he's streaking down the field wide ass open.  He's actually much better working underneath and then using his speed after the catch.

 

I think Ginn would be a good person to use in screen passes and reverse options.......

I wouldn't exactly classify our receivers as "good" (perhaps for this year in spurts) because they've had too many drops. I think that the more appropriate assessment is that they have been adequate.

 

If we don't get at least one big-play wide-out in round 1 or 2 next year, may the football gods help us.
