Our QB Spent His Day Off Feeding the Hungry

I personally think it was a whole lot more than that.  I think he took a long hard look at his posturing and demeanor when things were not going well.  Quite frankly, I could see him asking vets like Gross, Kalil, Beason, etc how he could change his demeanor to portray as a better leader....guy genuinely wants to continue to improve the little things (on and off the field).

I agree that the media and other fans are unjustly hating on him.  They see little bits of his "antics".....superman pose, first down, towel on head, airplane to start, and view it as a diva showing off.  However, we get to see the real Cam becasue that is who we want to follow and know about.  When you do, you see the big kid who is just having fun playing a game.

He is my starting QB....hope he stays that for a damn long time....and I am damn proud to say it.

So Cam doing those things are seen as "arrogant" in the eyes of the same folks who find Colin kissing his biceps as cool and RG III being curt with the lower lever reporters as just a QB 'growing." I have to laugh.

Speaking of RG III. We are all now witnessing the same high and might folks who encouraged some on here to rake Cam over the coals for every ish he did simply to continue their painting him being the next Vince Young are now out in full force defending RG III and his maturity issues and play, same thing with Luck.

Yeah, RG III behavior in front of the camera and towards reporters is seen by the same folks, who kept criticizing Cam and everything he did, as him just having "growing pains." The low level reporters are grumbling about RG III's arrogant behavior but the gods of the sports media at NFLN/ESPN are defending him to the fullest. Like Luck, nothing is his fault.

Amazing how much those at ESPN/NFLN are protecting Luck and RG as they grow into "future QBs," yet they always fell the need to publically rake Cam over the coals for dumb ish as a towel on his head and justified it with him being drafted at #1. Cam not liking to lose was seen as immature and needing to grow up. He was seen as being in a "slump" despite ending the season ahead of some of the Vets. RG's is seen as a guy who has never been in the position that he is in and you have yet to hear the "slump" word used on him or Luck. HYPOCRISY AT THE BEST!!

If seeing how these young QBs are handled by the media makes me a 'Cam nut hugger," whatever that means, I will take the title and wear it with pride. I hope Cam continues to make them look like the asses that they are because I guess picking the pimple off his behind give them serious hard-ons.

Why do defensive? I am agreeing with you. Saying that we know the real Can and not just little sound bites and events taken out of context.

Sorry about the defensiveness.

But It's clear those in the media enjoy pigeon holing these QBs and then setting out to convince us that their view of them is how we fans are to see them because we're to stupid to see make the right judgement of them for ourselves, which is what annoys me.  Cam= Vince Young. RG III = Donnovan Mcnabb Luck = the traditonal QB who is always white, and he is above reproach.

Cam gets endlessly scrutinized because the image created for him was that of Vince Young. Which is the reason, from day one to now, they are always "questioning"  his so called "maturity and intelligence issues,"  while undermining his athletism by demanding that he be a so called "true pocket passer," and labeling him a Bust before he threw one ball in the NFL. RG III is treated like Mcnabb, where they see his image as "safe" and he's quite intelligent. They will never directly attack RG but they will spend time commenting and discussing the issues others are having with him and his game-play, just like they did with McNabb. Luck is Peyton Manning,  a QB who was/is a "Choosen QB" of his era. Luck, like Peyton, is never to be seriously placed in a negative light because it will weaken the image created for him. Instead, outside of falling flat on his face, Luck will be quitely given every chance to succeed, while the endless hype over his greatness is pushed and we're to simply accept. In the mean time, our eyes, and common senses, see otherwise.

I have been a Cam fan since Auburn, went and saw the Iron bowl and I was sold.

People always have a nasty habit of attacking someone more successful then them when things don't go their way

You need to understand something--everyone on this board wants Cam to be successful.  So don't accuse people on here of attacking Cam--that is just stupid.  It shows a childish emotional refusal to engage in productive conversation.  Cam HIMSELF felt a need to change and he did.  Those of us who said he needed to change were accused of blasphemy.  It is not always black and white, but I can tell you that there is little difference on offense between last year and this year--Cam's stats are actually a bit worse this year, but 2012 Cam would not have won like 2013 Cam. Thank God he agreed with those of us you call "the haters" because had he not, he might never have grown into the player he is today--he, like you, would have blamed everyone around him instead of knowing what the job of the NFL QB is--to lead.  I am proud of him.  I pull for teams, not players. Maybe that is why you don't seem to recognize the difference between leading a team or building statistics. Cam is now leading.  Attacking Cam?  No.  Waiting for him to mature and being honest until he does?  Yes.

Now that Cam is winning again, I see you are back by his side. Welcome to the Huddle.

Hello, I am Jebediah, your Amish goat-milking farm hand from Western Pennsylvania. You know that Western Pennsylvania produces more top quality QBs than there are fleas on a plowing Ox's back, so if your herd of goats needs milking....

Just kidding. I do not need to put Andrew Luck down to pay respects to Cam.

I am still waiting for the people who defended Cam last season to attack those of us who criticized him then. He is a different player now--the player we all knew he could be-- and a smart person would see the difference and think, "Now I get what they were saying." His teammates, coaches, family, and Cam himself all admit to undergoing some rather dramatic changes this year. I am elated about it and I think we finally have that franchise qb this franchise has never had. This photo tells me that he gets it. If you think he is fun this year, wait until the OL and WR upgrades in 2014.

THE FACT that he needed to go through changes is all that is important. People were saying that Cam was great and the protection and WRs were the problem. People who know football and know the job of playing NFL QB realized that there was more to the problem. Newsflash: He has the same coaches, line, and weapons he had last year. Cam's maturation was the difference--so anyone criticizing people for criticizing Cam before he made this self-motivated transition are just showing blind allegiance to his potential, not his performance. He still has room to grow, which is exciting. If he listened to some people, he would have blamed everyone else and not reflected enough to undergo the growth. But if it makes you feel good to take one line out of context and run with it, then maybe you should take a few pointers from Cam and learn some honest reflection.

Oh pipe down already MHS. Nobody wants to read your drivel. I guess you're off the "trade Cam" wagon now suddenly? Fickle ass fans.

As for the thread, good on Cam and his foundation. We need more people like this.
