Eric Ebron- UNC entering draft

Football is fun to debate bc of the chicken or egg arguments.

When Cam broke two tackles to roll out in the Miami game..not one WR/TE got open. That is sorta a problem we have to stop ignoring. It would not have mattered if we had LT-Joe Thomas and three other Pro Bowl OLinemen.

OL is a HUGE issue but so are big time offensive playmakers. Ebron is a huge target with hands...imagine if we had a Jimmy Graham...Olsen is nice but he is not a game changer.

The Atlanta falcons designed their offense around the pass. Around having he ability to move the ball down the field. Look where that has gotten them.

The NFL has always, and will always, be decided by two things. Your QB and the battle in the trenches.

you cannot be designed around the pass if you do not address the OL, which the falcons didnt do. no offense will be successful if you do not have time(falcons), and this team does need to invest in OL early. but this team also needs playmakers that can catch the ball, you should have a balance of both i think.if Ebron or a play making WR is on board and is bpa, you have to take them over reaching for a OL.

now you can reach for anybody, and say he was bpa, which a lot of teams do, but this team needs a consistent threat as a receiver (WR or TE), and OL.

OBPA and he could very well be it if available.

Our offseason building process is very similar to early Fox era.  Year 1-Establish a foundation; Year 2-Defense focus; Year 3: Offense

I would be pumped if we got him and I'm confident Shula can integrate dual TEs in our game plans well.

R1 - OBPA

R2 - OBPA

Remaining picks - BPA

can this guy block like a muhfuga?

Dang good for a TE.  He loves to hit, many felt he should play DE at UNC but he was to good a weapon at O to move him (Though he has played some snaps on D)

Everyone is Freaking out about the OL, Yes that is something that needs to be looked at.

But it doesn't matter how good you OL and QB is.  If you don't have the weapons its moot

We have had Tons of injuries this year on OL (have a guy who was a DT for us last year on the OL now)

There is a Good possibility that Gross will be back for at least another year or 2 (especially with us having a team to make a deep playoff run).

Cam is big and Mobile so he can get out of some of the pressure situations unlike 85% of the rest of the QB's in the league.

I counted at-least twice this past week where Cam got out of the pressure and Cam waited around and NO ONE not One person could get open so the 3rd down play ended up with a incomplete or they eventually got to Cam for the Sack.  Cam had plenty of time on quite a few pass attempts but no one could get open and eventually they would get a coverage sack.  Over half of Cams sacks this year haven't come on 3-4 seconds, they have come where he drops back cant find anybody then5-6 plus seconds in they finally get to him.

Many people Begged and Begged to get Cowher as coach.  Look at him for example in Pittsburgh.  They had a top D like us, pounded the rock like us, had a big physical mobile QB who was one of the toughest to get down in the NFL....like us

Also like us the OL didn't do their QB any favors.  "Big Ben" had probably one of the bottom 2-3 OL in the whole NFL.  He did have the weapons though which helped him (that their is what we Don't have).

Right now OL is probably 3rd on list of needs right now with this team.  WR/TE, DB, OL

This OL is not any worse than the one when Cam broke the rookie records and we had a top 5 O in the league (just had bottom 5 at the time prior to Luke Star etc)

i want to add veteran depth at OL via free agency if we have the cap space. I wouldnt be mad at this pick at all.

Wasn't really directed just at you.

Have seen many panthers fans crying how bad the OL is and don't realize that some sacks (that many are complaining is the reasoning the OL needs some fixing) where the WR/TE's etc just fail to get open.  Its the NFL you could have a pro bowl OL back their and they could hold the NFL's worse front 7 off forever.  Cam has actually ben hit sacked etc less than many QB's in the NFL.  Take away some of them that came from coverage sack where our guys couldn't get open and our OL would look like one of the best n the league (which is really good considering this OL group has been hit harder by injuries than any group in the NFL)

I'm not going to call the Matthews kid at A&M a bust yet, but the  top OT coming this year gets the benefit from mobile "Johnny Football"  and Real good WR who gets  open catch's crazy passes bailing out Johnny.  We've already seen the last OT who just came out and went #2 from there and started at LT over Matthews become a bust.

Point being Good Mobile QB with Solid to Good Weapons mask bad OL real well!

How many times do we have to go over this.

Just as the infusion of talent along the DLine has made our secondary much much better (besides the bombing we took Sunday),

the infusion of talent on the OLine will make our TE's QB, RB's and WR's much better.  Time is a wonderful thing for a QB and deadly for a secondary

but one can also make the argument that 2 out of the 3 losses came from that secondary because there are ways to beat a good pass rush.yes the OL needs an infusion of talent but so does the talent at WR or TE. the 49ers are a great example of this, beast OL with little to no weapons.both positions need to be addressed.
