Ebron is Perfect fit.  Cams best year was the 2 TE set with Shockey and Olson.

Ebron will fall just because TE's don't go high anymore.  But he is a Freak with his size speed and length.  He also has Great hands for a TE (probably better than any of our current WR's)

Another thing that we forget.  How important blocking is with a TE.  Olson isnt that great of a Blocker.  We have not had a Good blocking TE in a While, which is really needed in this shula offense and the weak O-Line

Ebron while putting up good receiving stats and flashy one handed catches, he is a dang good blocker.  Kid isnt afraid to hit someone (played some DE at UNC to).  By far hands down best weapon for Cam from our position we will be drafting at!

He would be the megatron of TEs... Line him up at WR. Olsen seems to be breaking down a bit too.

He is a guy that will go top 15 unfortunately...closer to the combine he is too good to pass on.

True but TE's have been like the RB's the last few years.  Top one will fall to the end of the first.

I agree line him out side not only would help Olsen at the #2 TE but also able to possibly move Smith to Slot.

It'd about be worth it to trade something small (ala a 5th or so) to move up 3-4 spots to grab him.

I hope we can go on a superbowl run but realistic for this year would make it around second round of playoffs putting us drafting around 24-27.  Top TE will go around 20-25 range.  Would defiantly be worth it to bump up that 3-5 spots

We do need OL But

1. It is a Very realistic that Gross will be back for at least 1 more year (especially if look for deep playoff run)

2. We do have 2 Young OG out who the staff was high on and we are down to our 4th-5th OG a lot of injuries.

1st: Ebron- another Strong TE duo like Cams rook year.  That right their fixes a BIG portion of the O

2nd: CB Very Deep Class- Very well could get Ifo or Fuller here.  Instant Help at CB

3rd:  OL- Some OT who some think has Potential at LT.  If he looks like he can't, he would probably already be a upgrade of Bell at RT

Look, I'm a huge UNC guy, I've been graced with Eric's greatness even before he was a widely known name, but it's not what we need to be doing right now.

We have glaring needs on the o-line and whether you like to admit it or not, the WR position. A second TE for two sets is nice and all, but it's a commodity that isn't needed.

Football is fun to debate bc of the chicken or egg arguments.

When Cam broke two tackles to roll out in the Miami game..not one WR/TE got open. That is sorta a problem we have to stop ignoring. It would not have mattered if we had LT-Joe Thomas and three other Pro Bowl OLinemen.

OL is a HUGE issue but so are big time offensive playmakers. Ebron is a huge target with hands...imagine if we had a Jimmy Graham...Olsen is nice but he is not a game changer.

True but, we have to remember that our OL has had Major injuries this year. We had 2 young OG's who the staff was high on and thought to be the starters down the road, go down for the year.

Another receiving weapon is more important than LT considering it is a much much much more possible that Gross will return atleast 1 more year than getting a stud #2 WR.

A stud 2 TE set is more than just a commodity especially with a star stud TE. Just ask Rivers, Brees, Kaepernik, Brady (big part was the gronk Hernandez duo), and even Cam (Blew up setting records and having his best year with the shockey/olson duo, D just sucked that year)

He's a good player but that is kind of like spending 2 first round picks on rb's or lb's in a four year spam.  You don't need to spend all your resources on 1 position only some team with a stupid GM would do something...... oh wait.   Forget I said anything.

Ebron is one of the best players in college FB and is going to be a big time NFL TE. I'm on the Mike Evans bandwagon but there's a good chance he'll be gone once we pick. We need a CB and OT but Ebron could do some damage on the Panthers. Personally, I'd love the pick.

I know there were some rumors floating around that the Panthers were very close to picking Tyler Eifert if Star wasn't available; so it looks like they could be in the market.

    • No one is allowed to criticize XL unless you want serious clap back. He’s just one of those players that is immune to criticism on this board. But sorry that I don’t expect week in and week out drops, body catching, jumping for every ball when you don’t have to, horrible spatial awareness from a 1st round WR. He has so much to work on that it’s insane these issues didn’t drop him to atleast the 3rd round during the evaluation process. To make matters worse, the best RB today was a 4th round RB we could’ve waited later for and gotten someone like Cooper DeJean who filled a need in the 2nd who a lot of posters were pounding the table for including me.
    • Keywords there "Playoff offenses".  They might be the a huge piece, but in every case there, they are not the only piece.  might be a good run game, good QB, or great coaching.  Meanwhile yes we have a good RB, but we're still like 24th in Rush YPG.  Other Recieving options?  basically all rookies.  QB?  A guy who was benched after 2 games and just now learning the NFL.  Hell we have a rookie coach.  It. Takes. Time.
    • His route running has improved as the year has gone on, but the gator arms show up every week. From all accounts he works his ass off, so let's hope he continues to do so this offseason to improve his hands catching.
