Anyone Else A Retard Texter?

   Ive done things like that. I almost feel like an expert at sending texts that get taken wrong to girls.  Biggest thing Ive learned....Stay away from sarcasm  while texting!!...Stay far away it or anything closely related to sarcasim!!...Every once in awhile, the humor of sarcasm works, but for every one that works, ten will fail miserably....for me anyways.

I dig that. Sometimes it's not even serious discussions though, I just say things that would be fine and easy to play off as a joke in person, but it doesn't translate over text.

   Another thing to keep in mind,....again, Ive been guilty here as well,.....Some girls you can cut up and have fun in person and just completely feel yourself like right off the bat. Sometimes though, you might run into a girl where you don't quite feel yourself, or you just cant find that comfort level where you can be how you want to be in person.  Everything may be working pretty well, yet you still find yourself wanting to find that niche to be more your self......Thats when texting becomes big time trouble!!.....You might feel more comfortable to be yourself while texting, so you try to loosen things up a little and wind up coming across as somebody shes not used to. Thats usually a good backfire. LOL!

I have an awkward confidence to me. I dunno how to explain it, but it's insecurity in an extremely confident, well carried manner.

Regardless, I'd say deep down inside I'm pretty emotional and insecure. I've got a couple of psychological things I've dealt with my whole life, but I've been doing much better ever since I was done with high school a couple of years ago.

But I'm thinking she's still tryna play me. I dunno. So hard to read because she almost seems too sweet, like she's hiding something.

Man, I'm 19, I'm at UNC, I think I can spit game, I do the whole random hookup thing, but I'm always getting caught up on these flakey fickle feminines. I swear, I'm like a Nicolas Sparks novel stuck inside an empty shell while tryna fill the void with random girls.

chances are this is the precise source of your problem. congratulations on recognizing it, most people never even get close and can never explain why they act the way they do.

 

my advice is to begin the process of rooting these things up, unpacking them, exploring them, and understanding how they compose your mental makeup and how they affect your behavior. in my experience it is a lifelong journey (so far) but an invaluable one that you must take.

In person I think I generally come come across as rather funny intelligent and very sarcastic but a nice guy. but if you get me over a phone I feel like I'm Sloth from the Goonies, I think it comes from the fact I didn't have a phone till I was 18 and never talked to anyone ever over the phone either via text for conversation before that, but oh well.
