One of the reasons we went for it on fourth and 10 was that we had used all but one of our timeouts.  Had we punted, Miami would have been able to run a lot of time off the clock, even if they didn't pick up the first down.  IMO, using those timeouts so early was a mistake, but it ended up working out well for us.

They waited a while to call the second of those timeouts, so it would have been maybe 45 seconds to a minute later.  I agree that makes it more interesting, but I think If the clock is at 1:45, most teams would punt and hope their defense could get it back with three timeouts to stop the clock. 

 

Happy with the results though.  :)

Yes. Who is it exactly that is in the booth that signals Ron to challenge a play. Whoever he is, he's an idiot. I'll bet the Panthers get around 80% of their challenges WRONG, and it has been this way throughout Ron's tenure.

i was actually happy that Ron called the challenge. I was under no impression he would win it, but the defense needed to be calmed down and that's a perfect way to take a timeout with the slight chance that you get the call overturned.
