Also, my understanding has always been that official game time is kept by the refs on the field. Hence, why refs often call for scoreboard operators to put time back on the clock (as they did at the end of this one, moving the clock from three seconds to six).

Schefter's discussion misses both of these points.

My guess would be either Schefter or some ESPN staffer watched the play, noticed the clock on screen and said to himself "Whoa, they let the clock run after that play. THEY CHEATED!"

Amusing that they would run with that item despite the facts noted here that official time is kept on the field and, more to the point, the final pass from Brady was intercepted.

Ignorance of those facts makes Schefter, a guy whose whole job is to watch the NFL, look kinda dumb :lol:

There's nothing questionable about it, clock operators don't stop the clock until the official makes a signal. The official conferred with the sideline judge before raising his arms, hence the runoff.
