Has Stewart killed our running game?

That's my question right now. Before Stewart came back off of the PUP list. Our running game was doing pretty good with Dwill and Tolbert. But since Stewart has come back. Our run game has gone down hill in recent weeks. Tolbert is seeing very few touches. While Dwill has gotten a good deal of carries. Since Stewart has come back. He has split carries with Tolbert. I just feel since Tolbert has seen a lot less carries since Stewart come back. Our running game has suffered. I love Stewart and all. But this team was doing better when Dwill and Tolbert was getting most if not all the carries before Stewart came back. My question to people has Stewart coming back cause this team running to suffer in recent weeks or is it the play calling and the oline?

 

The answer is simple, since JS is back we are playing much better teams.

The fact we have no OL and run it predictably is why out run game sucks.

I think our run game would be better if Stewart got more reps and heavy ones early. Letting Williams come in later in games.

I think the running game will do better when they let Geoff Hangartner take over the RG position fully... Chandler is a average RG in pass protection, but is downright bad in run protection, so hopefully they let Hangartner become the full time starter... He was slated to be the starter earlier this season and has a rapport with everyone else in the line, unlike Chandler.

Last year, Stewart and Williams earned over $17,000 per yard.  Build the line and keep first  contract backs behind them.  Why is that hard?

D Will has had a huge drop off in recent weeks. He is back to his old self dropping the second he even senses contact. The only way Stew is hurting our running game is because hes actually not getting more carries than D Will. Its no coincidence when D Will gets the ball he constantly struggles to get past the line of scrimmage while J Stew fights for atleast 3-5 yds. I hate to say it, but D Will has been failing the eye test in recent weeks
