Sons of Anarchy

But he didn't go out as a martyr.  He went out as the same shortsighted self-involved asshole he always was. Lets face it, everyone he killed after learning that Gemma killed Tara and that the club was going to have a mayhem over him offing the other pres was just Jax being a murderous fugstick.  I mean you don't get to plan or carry out the murder of dozens of people and the abandonment of your children and still claim to be some kind of reluctant outlaw.

I said earlier in this thread that this had been one of the better seasons and I'm going to go back on that.  I don't know if its because I basically watched this season over a few days last weekend on iTunes and with little to no time to ruminate on the episodes in between seeing them or what but after reflecting on it a bit it was just fuging sloppy and lazy.  What was with all of the boo-hooing and hardened outlaw tears if the club was just going to turn around and let Jax walk?

I don't really know what more I expected from a show that had slid so far down from the heights of the first couple of seasons but is was most definitely more.

Sutter really did a number on the show there after 3/4 seasons.   Obviously too much of his wife (Gemma) and her singing, but he started taking his own show a bit too serious (I mean look at the finale with the comparisons to Christ/sacrifice).  He screwed up Jax's character to where there was nothing even remotely redeemable about him.

I think this season was kind of "meh" because of the lack of Ron Perlman, it really took a hit without him and then too much Gemma, obviously.

You can't take a show like this too serious Sutter, because it's not even believable (as if Charming and all this wouldn't be on the news).

They weren't letting him walk, they were letting him kill himself. Remember he said "i wouldn't put this burden on you guys." They knew he was going to die, he just didn't make them pull the trigger.

I don't think it came out of nowhere.  I kind of thought that was the way it would end, Jax going out like his old man did.

His old man was killed by Clay Morrow. We know that from Season 4 ep 5. Brick.

From http://sonsofanarchy.wikia.com/wiki/John_Teller

Season Four:

Jax is shown to despise his father, believing him to be a coward for not leaving the club when he wanted to and just wrote about it. It is revealed later between Tara and Piney that John and Kellan were going to a meeting with the IRA to end the gun running business but was killed before it could happen. In "Brick" it is revealed that Clay had murdered J.T. and was sleeping with his wife.

So for him to go out like his old man would mean that Tara would be fuging Chibs and the two of them killed him.

His old man got run over by a truck

John was hit by a semi-truck, Nov. 11, 1993 and died two days later

It might have happened due to Clay messing with his bike, and some of the circumstances might have been different, but he still went out the way his old man did, getting hit by a Semi.  He was even riding his Dad's fully restored bike when it happened, and he was on the same road.

Jax poetically dies on the same bike on the same road and in the same way as his father.
