Sons of Anarchy

I searched and saw some old threads, but none were really current. So, here we are.

I've known about the show since it started, but at the time, I wasn't into TV that much. Didn't really watch anything. After getting into several shows, a friend told me I need to watch it. He went so far as to give me his Netflix account info so I had no excuse. I just finished the season 3 finale and HOLY poo! BEST episode of any show I have ever watched. The balls those writers have to pull that off so amazingly is nothing short of spectacular.

Gonna try to catch up before Tuesday (which is likely, since I don't work again until Tuesday night and the only thing stopping me is eating, sleeping, and the game tomorrow). I absolutely love this show.

Nothing like a TV show binge to get caught up.  This last episode really popped.

OK, just finished season six, episode 9. This show is simply amazing. It has it's moments that leave something to be desired, but overall, it's BRILLIANTLY done, both in writing and acting. Great shots by the film crew, especially during chase sequences. There have been some nifty moments of camera work that made me very happy.

Also, as dark and heavy as the show is most of the time, I like how they throw in just enough humor to relieve you. Can't remember which episode it was, but the episode where Jax makes the chop shop guy and his cops on the take apologize to the entire club. I fuging lost it. Too damn funny.

I think I might almost like this more than TWD....almost...

Meh it's best not to open TV threads if you're not caught up on that show, that's general interweb knowhow lol.  Show has been good and yes, definitely better than TWD but that is most of the 20+ tv shows I watch.    Jax can't win, every time he gets a win for the club is home life takes a hit.   He was insane to think he could clean up the club and live a happy "legit" life with the wife and kids.   One of the 9ers' men even hinted at it on this episode.   Jax is destined to live and die with the club, and that is why I don't blame Tara, she wants to break the cycle and get the kids out, but not sure what she's going to do now.  She should have went to Oregon when Jax said to though.  Jimmy Smits has been amazing on this show and should really get some award recognition as supporting actor.

See, I can't stand Tara because of how she is doing this. I agree, she SHOULD be trying to get the boys out, but had she just listened to Jax when he told her to go, this wouldn't be happening. Or if she just talked to him and explained why she wanted to go away until he straightened poo out, I'm sure he'd be OK (it was his idea to begin with).

Jimmy Smits is amazing. I'm really curious how Nero handles the news of Jax and Juice. I was expecting him to straight up choke Jax last night.

I'm not sure Nero goes head to head.  The scene with his comforting Jax instead of going off on him, showed a lot of restraint and sympathy so it would be a turn for him to go head to head.  I do think Nero starts thinking for the future and realizes he can't trust Jax, so maybe he splits off the girls business and starts helping the Mayans.  Not sure.  He cares about Gemma so it's complicated for him.

No, general know how is to at least have a spoiler warning for a major plot point in a general discussion thread. It's not like this thread is "SOA season 6 thread". That would make it ok IMO.

    • Wilks is a nobody in the grand scheme of things.  He is right back out of the NFL, exactly where he was before Carolina dragged him back to the NFL.  I don't see what he has to be pissed or salty about. He got a shot with 2 teams and was just a average coach as he has always been.  He is a lesser Fox/Rivera
    • The way BY must play quarterback has a much higher degree of difficulty.  Coupled with his physical limitations his margin for error is small.    The guy evading the blitz and dropping a dime deep over double coverage is more exciting then a wobbling ball thrown into the blitz with good enough placement that gets 6 yards on a 3rd and 5.  It's been beat to death that he will never be the first guy.  He was the second guy vs the Chiefs.    The second guy is harder to do because it's mostly mental:  reading, reacting and processing the correct solution that the defense provided within a second or two.    It's harder to see on film, it's harder to evaluate.  That's why I think there's a divergence between fans yelling "noodle armed middle schooler!!" and analysts going "hold up, let's not write him off yet"    I personally need to see the Chiefs game be the start of growth before getting hopeful.  Ideally would like to see 1-2 300yd multi td games.  Then I'd expect the entire off season to fix his footwork.  With his physical limitations that footwork needs to be damn near perfect.  I would still bring in competition at the QB spot even in that scenario.
