"The Panthers are ripe for a letdown game like they always have!"

that '03 Falcons team had just gotten Vick back for that game. they werent even the same team they were with todd bouman or whoever played QB for them most of that year.

I was grounded from TV (amongst other things) for that game and had to turn all my lights off in my room and turn the tv way down so I could watch it without my parents knowing. think my old man may have known but was cool about it and let me. then we friggin blew it in OT.

I remember that game, they said Vicks name like 600 times and kept showing pictures of his legs.  Annoying as fug

Absolutely fair, but if you think that, then you can't say we're headed for a likely loss this week like we always do. There's absolutely no sign of a letdown based off the 2013 season.

Not saying there is. I'm just not one of those "past season" guys. Each year is different.

I think the most recent team to fall victim to a trap game is the Colts (Rams game). The threat's there for any good team, but it's not a chronic ailment the Panthers have. It's there to remind us that talent is fairly level for every NFL team, so no matter who you play and how bad they may be, you still have to prepare.

I've thought whether this could have the potential to be a trap game.

Big Monday Night win followed by a trip to Miami to play a team in disarray.

Rivera has forbid the players to speak of the Monday Night game and its finish. Could a little we didn't deserve the win creep in?

More importantly this stretch against Miami and a terrible Tampa Bay coulld spell a let up as 2 of 3 games against New Orleans awaits on the horizon which should decide the NFC South.

Fortunately, defense rarely has a slump, McDermott needs to dial up some plays and get Tannehill uncomfortable early even without CJ rushing off the edge.

Keep 'em focused Rivera.

I really don't care how past Panther teams have handled "trap" games. This is a totally different team, I have no idea how they will handle any new scenario, I think that's what I'm enjoying the most.

Exactly. And if past seasons matter then we are in trouble because we are 0-for against the Flippers.

The most fun you can have as a fan is what we are going through right now IMO. I don't care about predicting the playoffs or Super Bowl chances whatsoever. I love just watching each week for what they can do. This is as good as it gets to me.

Honestly, I dont care enough to try to find one. I live in the "present"...not the past!

As far as I am concerned, such games that happened in the past are history. No logical person would conclude that because we lost such and such game at such and such time such and such years ago with such and such players that we are doomed to have it happen again.

And if you believe as much, I've got a great deal out of Nigeria that will make you an overnight millionaire I'd love to tell you about.

Still makes your post not just irrelevant but more pointless than the original thread.

Conversing with another fan of Carolina about how our feel-bad, low self esteem, and small market media bias makes one quite negative over time isn't tooirrelevant. Also, I was on the phone when I was reading, which just complicates things.
