Is there anything preventing us from being a Super Bowl team?

'fear'/'scared of' as in healthy amount of respect for what they can do. not 'wet your bed cause you so scared' type fear.

and i think manning has to have it or at least would need it if they were to face us this year. i think brady did have it.

i like rivera/mcdermott's ability to gameplan against manning and i like kuechly's chances at playing chess with him. i think that it would be a good matchup on both sides of the ball.

14 year veterea, all time best qb vs 2nd year stud mlb

That is a mismatch, Cam will need to ball out to win this game

IMO the legit contenders are (in no particular order):

  NFC: Seattle, SF, NO, Carolina

  AFC: Denver, NE

There are certainly others who can squeak in, with a single elimination tourney you always have 'any given sunday,' but I think the Superbowl will likely be from two of those teams.  Are there any on there who scare you?  No.  We are as good as, or better than everyone else on the list.

I think we're better than Seattle and NO, about even with SF and NE, and unknown against Denver, but their game v NE will tell us a lot.  Chiefs won't get by Denver or NE, so you can forget about them.

Guys think about this. How amazing would it be if the cardinals made it to the wild card we win the division and play them and win then play Seattle at Seattle and win and then go on to play NE in the Super Bowl and win. That would probably be the greatest stretch in panther history all in one playoff run.

I dont like a blinking contest against Manning and Cam.

That is what it would come down to.

We don't match up well against the Saints.  It kills me to say it, but until we get the personnel on the O-line that will allow us to impose our will with respect to the running game and/or a Calvin Johnson type WR, this is the type of team that will stand in our way.  It's good enough for a 1-2 game push in the playoffs, but unless Ginn suddenly turns into mega-stud, this is what our personnel will allow.

This does bode well for the future though.  A very strong, young defense that can get it done along with a franchise QB with numerous options in the backfield is enough for a perennial playoff team.  Add some stud O-line prospects from the draft along with secondary help, some WR help in the form of developing our own or finding more Ginn-type prospects, we will have an extremely strong outlook for the next half decade

The Oline needs to get better at run blocking fast. Dwill and Stew are almost worthless right now. I mean we couldn't even run on the Patriots. If we were running like we were in 2008, I would take us against anyone. Imagine if we could actually set up some legit play action and drop some bombs to Ginn. We could be averaging 30+ ppg
