Cameron Wake Is The Only "Kraken" Says Miami Fans

Who is Cameron Wake and why do we have a thread about him on the Huddle?

I thought he was some young and upcoming player but this thread taught me that he's pretty old. Can't hate though, because nobody outside of Panther fans even know that Charles Johnson is a prominent DE on the Panthers and not some WR on the Packers practice squad.

He is not up to last years sacks, he is 2 behind.  And you can say what you want but it is 6.5 sacks through 10 games not 7. There are 6 games left not 9.   And really I don't see any 4 sack perormances left on your schedule like last year so it won't be escalating big time.

In 2012 he had 7 games without a sack, this year he has 6 already through 10 games.  No matter what the reason he is not doing as well.  You are right he could bolster his total given he always plays big against 1 or 2 teams and is mediocre the rest of the time.  7.5 of his sacks were against 2 teams last year and 5.5 against 2 this year.  Still given he goes weeks without a sack he will very lucky to have 10.  Likely less.

As for comparing him to Hardy, Wake is a one trick pony who can little but rush the passer.  Hardy is a complete player who can do it all.  Wake has 19 tackles Hardy has 41, not even close.  And yeah tell me again it is 7 games but the issue is how many are left and that is 6.  So no Wake won't be putting up big numbers this year.

2 behind not playing in 2 1/2 games this year is pretty impressive any way you spin it. This weeks without a sack thing is pretty funny imo. Mind you he just came back 100% against the Pats. You, like most Panthers fans, don't know who Cameron Wake is yet you're basing your silly opinion of him on a decline and how he's having such a bad year on stats. One trick pony? Try running to his side.

Why aren't Dolphins fan and fans concerned about how many sacks he has but you are? Because Wake, despite what anyone says, remains as one of the best pass-rushers in the game despite him being 31 and on a so-called "decline."

Again, what's with you saying he is not matching last year's stats? You just said that I was living in the past yet you're bringing up his performance last year.

Just for you

He had 8.5 sacks through 10 games last year, he has 6.5 through 7 games this year.

He has more sacks than Hardy playing in less games, but he's "slowing down" LOL.

You can't say he's slowing down because the season hasn't ended yet. He could have 14-16 sacks again by the end of the year. SMH.

What happens when a wanna be kraken meets superman aka Cameron jerrell Newton.......nothing good for you son......now get off our forum before someone hurts your feelings and you report us to goodelll

Good thing is that we only have to listen to your hopeful smack for one more day. After the Panthers extend their win streak to 7 games, you will do just like all others before you....slink away to never be heard from again.

Because Dolphins fans are desperate for something to get excited about.  They think Tannehill is a great quarterback and that their defense is really good so why wouldn't they believe that Wake is the next coming of  Jason Taylor.  He might get a sack or even 2.  But that won't be because he is that great.  It is because he lines against Byron Bell who made Mario Williams look like a superstar and has given up 8 sacks already this year.  Even so, if he doesn't get run over often it will be because we run better to the left than the right, not that he could hold the edge on a bet.

Then again the only way Miami sees good football is when other good teams invade the stadium. That is when the fans even show up.

Tannehill the next Marino? I wish. He has potential to be a top-15 QB in the future, he just hasn't put it together yet imo.

Defense was really good, particularly the run D. It has fallen off this year while the pass D has improved.

Wake next coming of Jason Taylor? I  started watching the Dolphins in 08' so I don't know that much about Taylor but I don't think Wake can replicate what Taylor did considering Wake entered the league at 27 and Taylor at 23 meaning he had less time. You're trying to discount the fact that Wake is one of the better DE's in the league because of his age while I'm trying to defend it. Not exactly hyping him up to be so great. We'll see today.

    • Start with Bryce, this is like his rookie year. The 1st 2 games proved her was wired wrong and it looks like (we hope) he needed a time out to reset and be the player that was drafted. He's still about a year or more away from being a top 15 QB, if the Panther give him another playmaker or 2 (a top WR and a decent TE) and maintain that line. Canales deserves credit as playing that card correctly to motivate (or refocus) his QB for one last shot to decide his and the Panthers immediate future. As a Panther fans we should hope he keeps improving as we invested so much to get him. CJ Stroud will never have a season like he had, even if he stays a top 10 QB. He's got great character so I'm rooting for Bryce to continue on his positive journey. Canales is playing the week to week thing with bryce perfectly. Nothings guaranteed, earn it weekly which builds consistency and consistency is greatness.  Keep the O-line. They've got to extend Brady C, along with Mayes that have a real good 7. Great job Morgan starting with the big guys upfront.  I really hope they draft a DE or OLB in the 1st round. Getting Brown back with A Robinson and what DJ has shown that we can have a decent D-line. Need a CB in the early rounds/ or a time FA to go with Horn.  The future as to next year being good enough to challenge for the division is within reach. Just show progress (win or lose) every week. Kudos to Dan Morgan. Plays GM like a LB. Tackle the problem and move on, don't just hope it works out. Find guys with your playing mentality and work closely with your HC to share a vision. Teamwork starts at the top and flows down.
