I almost think may ultimately end up helping him... In a way...

 

We've seen him grow and develop before our eyes and it's part of his story, but it's also help him build a rep as a fierce and tough, unique player.

 

 

He's got a unique personality to him that will help him stand out from other guys who just pile up numbers.

Cris Carter is the measuring stick.

 

Cris Carter's best season was in 1995 where he made the pro-bowl and had 1371 yards. Even with those numbers, that was only 7th best that year.

 

Carter has never been higher than 7th in receiving yards in a season....Ever.

 

It took Carter 7 seasons to get 1,000 yards...barely getting by with 1071 yards.

 

The only thing that Carter has on Steve is longevity (16 seasons to 13) and touchdowns (130 to 66)
