Patriot fines

Keep Pounding

Charles seemed to indicate he thought it was an accident after the game...guess the NFL feels otherwise

i agree with him, that i dont think the guy did it intentionally or to hurt CJ, more or less an involuntary reaction after he was beat which still warrants the fine and should have cost them 15 yards.

Well, at least he got punished.

Tom Brady should also have been punished for yelling and cursing at the referee all the way into the tunnel.. Brady also showed a lack of class by not returning to the field and shaking Cam Newtons  hand.

("Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was not fined for his expletive-laced rant toward the officials after a controversial non-call on the final play of the game against the Panthers.")

That's the way I see it.  Cannon resorted to using his leg to stop CJ after getting beat.  Being scared of letting down your team will often result in some desperate acts.  I don't think he was looking to target Johnson's knee.  It kinda just happened that way.  The people complaining about the fine amount don't realize that you can't confirm Cannon was looking to cause injury from the replay.  Sadly, in this case, the resulting injury is irrelevant.

If the first instinctive reaction after getting beat is to lift your leg and leg whip your opponent, then Cannon needs coaching. Better coaching. I'm sure Suh will tell you his infractions are often instinctual too. Doesn't make it okay. Doesn't make it excusable. Shows it's something that has to be corrected and is wrong.
