Ginn's catch lost in the shuffle (as pointed out by David Newton)

Agreed, but thats my point, he cant really excell an entire game running the WR route tree. He may get soft coverage and hit a stop route like Monday, but hes not going to bring an package of routes you have to prepare for. Hes not a #1 WR. nor a #2. Nor a slot. Hes a guy that if he can catch it.....will take the top off a defense and make the safety on that side account for him. Hes a good asset to have, hence a great #3.

Very true. Ginn made a terrific play but his routes are still very inconsistent and his hands are still iffy. But he fits his role here perfectly and seems happy with it, so no need to go crazy giving him a monster deal nor expecting him to take over Smitty's role. We still need to find a true #1 receiver very soon.

Ginn would be crazy to go elsewhere after this season, and we would be stupid to let him go.

Oh and nobody has brought up the fact that Ginn will be playing the team that drafted him and then chased him outta town, this week. His emotions will be running even higher than the SF game.

Ginn was not chased out of town...........Cam Cameron (The Phins coach at that time) shouldn't have drafted him that high (9th overall pick in 2007).........he was more like a second round pick.  He was given plenty of chances in Miami..........he was a very good kick returner..............but was way to unreliable as a receiver.........he had gator arms going across the middle.

Glad he's found a home, but he should have no ill will against the Dolphins.

I see us having a shot at Marqise Lee but not Mike Evans. That said, we could draft Brandon Coleman in the third round or take a chance on Green-Beckham next year.

I know it's in no way fair to Marquise Lee, and the past really has no bearing on the present in this regard.  But dammit all if I'm still not really scared of drafting a USC receiver in rd 1.  Or 2.  Or at all.

I was one of the few that believed he was going to come in and make a difference in the receiving department.  He has had a crucial drop or two but for the most part he has been reliable.   I hope we retain him and he keeps working with R. Phroel.  I could see him taking the #1 spot if Smitty can hold out another year or two.

Smitty can pass that chip on his shoulder to Ginn.

It was a great catch and run. I don't know if any other WR on this roster scores a TD on that play.

I also give a lot of credit to Cam on the play. As Gruden pointed out, it looked like Lafell up the seam was the first option but the safety took that away, so Cam went to Ginn. Ginn came back to the ball and showed great concentration by bringing it in. It was not an easy catch by any means.

Cam stared at Ginn, Lafell, and the corners before he snapped the ball. I believe he knew what was coming as far as what the Patriots were gonna take away. The throw to Ginn just seemed to be too perfect for it not to be his initial read. I think if Lafell is covered and the safety takes the sideline then he hits Lafell.

It was a bold play by Cam and a great job of Ginn running the route.

I loved that Ginn was the one to score that. And that ball while not badly thrown looked low enough to where other receivers probably would have slid or fallen to catch it. But, Ginn makes the catch, feet on the ground, turns and it's off to the races.

I'm glad he's been given a real chance here. He's proving teams wrong, the teams that gave up on him too soon. I actually had a friend who is a 49er homer say when did Ginn learn to catch? And was honestly stunned by that TD. Sadly though, people still overlook him as a receiver and do not afford him much respect. And unfortunately the media chooses to focus on one call in the game, over anything else.

Ginn you will always be known as a receiver here in Carolina. Fug the non-believers.

If that ball was thrown any harder or higher that would give Arrington a much better chance at coming down with the tackle. That was perfectly placed YAC throw IMO.
